I'm fairly new to wet shaving with a D.E. safety razor. I bought this beautifully scented Cavendish lavender shave to shave my face with. I'm still working on my razor technique & also my soap foaming skills. I read a lot of reviews & finally I decided to try this shave soap puck & prayed the scent would not smell too manly because I'm a lady shaver who doesn't wanna smell like a strongly scented masculine shave soap). When the shave soap arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this smells. It's a nice floral lavender scent that fades away shortly after I finish my shave, so doesn't overpower any perfume I wear. It has good slip & lathers up nicely. I've never had my razor glide so smoothly and effortlessly over my face with very little (if any) drag, while leaving me with the least number of nicks & only very minimal irritation--which is solely my own fault due to my being a safety razor newbie & not in any way caused by the shaving soap. All in all I'm giving Henry Cavendish Lavender Shave Soap 5-stars & will update in future as I become more experienced with D.E. safety razor shaving & try out more shave soap pucks, but for now I'm quite happy with this one & for now it is my favourite go to shave soap (lol, not just because it's currently the only shave soap I own, but also because I'm impressed by the quality & performance of the soap puck).

I have actually bough this brand of shaving soap before, and I like it a lot. Have tried it in a couple of different scent, but I like the lavender scent the best. And my over all opinion of this product has not changed, as it’s good. I get about 2 to 3 months use out of this, and it does not irritate my skin. I’ve tried a few brands of canned shaving cream over the years, even for sensitive skin and sensitive area shaving creams none of them compare to this. This does require a shaving brush to use, and does need to be stored in some kind of container a coffee cup will work. As it fits inside of a coffee cup just fine. It is a little pricey, but still a good value as it does not take much to build a good rich lather.

A couple of years ago I switched to am old fashioned single blade cartridge razor and shaving brush. I've tried a variety of different shaving soaps including modern expensive ones all with about the same results. I've been using Henry Cavendish for about 5-6 months now and WOW the difference! I get a great lather very easily, a smooth shave, and no post shave irritation. A HUGE BONUS is that my razor blades are now lasting around 4 weeks! I had previously been having to replace the blades every 7-10 days. I attribute this to the excellent quality of the lather softening my beard and making easy work on the blade. This will be my GO TO BRAND from here on out! It is worth the money!

I liked the smell, but I did not like the performance of the lather. I could hardly get an acceptable lather from this product. The lather was too thin. No matter how hard I tried, I simply could not get the lather to thicken up enough to get a comfortable shave. I used a good quality sable brush. I will not buy this product again. Dave

Used their regular Himalaya soap before and loved that, so I figured I'd give this one a try and I absolutely love it. I don't think I'll be going back to the Himalaya soap again, because this one is near perfect. It creates a great, thick lather and moisturizes the skin so well that my blade just glides across my face with no slight tug at all. When I used it with my Feather blades, rather than my usual Gillette 7'o clock, it gave the closest, most comfortable shave I've ever had. Plus, it smells nice and has a stronger smell than the Himalaya. Some may be put off, as the lavender smell is quite strong and, as mentioned in a review here, can be seen as quite feminine. I personally don't mind it and find it's a nice balance between masculine and feminine, given it's a natural lavender smell as opposed to the pretty, pretty artificial scents you'd find in feminine products. I'm still experimenting with traditional wet shaving and will still be trying new soaps and such in future, but, given how good this soap is, I may find myself coming back to this. Also, I'd like to note that the customer service is great. I received a couple messages from the company, recommending ways to shave and use the soap. It's not really a major thing, but the added effort is nice and appreciated.

I bought this for my husband he was a huge fan of mug shave soap, but unfortunately they stopped making it. So I was looking up shave soap to see what I could find and I looked at a few different soaps with their reviews and this was the winner. And I'm glad I did my husband likes this even better than mug shave soap he said it feels like it conditions the skin better and it has a better lather. He uses it with a shave soap brush. His skin feels so smooth and soft after shaving with this shave soap.

Muy buen jabon para afeitar, hace muy buena espuma y huele muy bien a lavanda aunque es muy fuerte el olor jejeje asi que te tiene que gustar el olor a lavanda si no este no es tu jabon

Il sapone arriva inscatolato ma privo di una confezione atta a riporlo dopo l'uso, è sufficiente usare un bicchiere, magari con un sottobicchiere a mò di tappo per preservare la fragranza nel tempo, quest'ultima è ottima (ma la valutazione è totalmente soggettiva), per quanto riguarda la parte "tecnica" il sapone si presenta ottimo in face lathering ma richiede molta attenzione nel montaggio in ciotola, nel primo caso regala una schiuma densa ed aiuta in modo gradevole la scorrevolezza del rasoio, nel secondo caso richiede pochissima acqua ed un attento dosaggio del prodotto altrimenti tende a montare una schiuma eccessivamente spumosa che smonta molto rapidamente. Consigliato a chi ama arricchire il proprio "arsenale", oggettivamente un buonissimo prodotto, se i profumi rientrano nella propria sfera di preferenze il sapone è in grado di regalare ottime rasature, profonde e prive di irritazioni.
