What or how is this used? Is this like Biosilk? Is it for after you wash your hair?

I don't know Biosilk. This is as it says a smoothing serum. You put on your hair while it is wet then style as usual. My hair is fine and permed and tended to be frizzy. This helps it be soft and smooth. I like it and will buy again. The bottle lasts a long time.

How much heat protection does this have?

It's uv protected also so extreme sun and irons

Does this smell like the shampoo?

I personally do not use the shampoo. But I can say it does smell good! I love it, it ships fast as well

Do you use conditioner on your hair and then also use this product, or do you just shampoo then spray this on towel dried hair instead of conditioner?

I wash and shampoo like normal! Once out of the shower, I towel dry my hair so it’s still damp. Then run this thru my hair starting at the tips! It’s more like a gel you put on your hands to run thru! Then I style like normal! My blow outs last 2-3 days with this product!
