It’s supposed to keep your drinks cooler longer than regular ice cubes because of its shape. When the ice tray first arrived, I immediately filled the tray with water and stuck it in the freezer. The trays are made a soft, silicone material and are easy to handle. Because they are made the way they are made, the water freezes much faster than conventional ice trays. Within a couple of hours, I had ice spheres. I put a couple in a glass and poured some soda over it. The soda was previously room temperature and the ice spheres cooled it down quickly. It did seem like the ice spheres melted in about the same amount of time as regular ice cubes, but I think these are a fun unique option for making drinks or even for making frozen treats. To me the best part of this gadget is how easy it is to clean and empty because of the soft, flexible silicone."This product was received at a free or discounted price in exchange for my review. Then use a measuring cup with a good pour spout. No matter how hard I tried, however, I could not prevent spillage which resulted in shards when removing the ice balls.The ice balls were easy to remove and were slightly larger than an ice cube from an ice tray. I think for iced tea, one or two would last as long as four cubes.While I do think this is cool, it isn't as easy to use as a good old fashioned tray, but, then again, the cubes aren't as fun as these balls are. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great fun and works very well *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2015* This is a fun way to make some interesting ice in the shape of spheres. It is made of food grade silicone rubber and is heat resistant and dishwasher safe. It is easy to use and clean and because it is soft and flexible, the ice balls drop out very easily. You can also put little sticks(like pieces of bamboo skewers or heavy toothpicks) into the balls to make offbeat frozen pops. In case you are worried that it might leak between the two halves, don't worry. Since each tray part has a lip that comes up as high as the top of the ball, it can not possibly overflow the top of the tray lip. As you fill it, any liquid that spills over the ball funnels can just sit in the top reservoir. Actually, if you completely fill the top reservoir almost to the top, it will press it down more and make for neater ice balls. You will just have to smack the ice on top with something like the handle of a spoon to crack it up and the whole thing will come apart nicely and neatly.
