Yes, Business Advice can be entertaining!
Books of advice about businesses tend to be dry (a euphemism for boring.) If the author is powerful, or successful, or powerfully successful, however, entrepreneurs will struggle through them hoping to glean insight into how to become the same.Enter Jeff Hilimire.Eschewing power as a goal, the author is totally focused on helping others become successful.Told in the first person and using a fictional format, the author invites readers into a five-day plan to help -not a client - but a potential client. By using fictional characters with whom readers can identify, the author adds anemotional component to this totally original book. (I know. I'm not a business person, yet I became involved in what our protagonist presented to the fictional Matt in their weekly meetings for five weeks. I even lost sleep when our hero lost sleep - or was puffing up the hill on a bicycle behind his mentor.)The main character presented one idea to Matt, who also happened to be a former business partner and friend,at a weekly Monday morning meeting. He then gave Matt the week to digest and implement the cumulative ideas which culminate in "failure" as an important goal of business. (This praise of failure alone lifts this book into the realm of distinguished.)This is a fresh, readable approach to offering business advice which can be applied to reality (in other areas of life as well as business.) The book is also interesting - a minor miracle for its genre. In a clear, concise, non-boring format - a tall order - the author attempt to engage and actually help readers become more successful. This author is victorious.

If getting better and operating faster matters, this is the book for you!
I absolutely devoured this book in only a couple of days. It is told in a parable type format (e.g. Patrick Lencioni) with characters who are easily found in today's business world. As someone who has been around a number of legacy organizations and worked closely with those in the start-up community, you can see the stark contrast in the working styles and approaches between those types of organizations. The Five Day Turnaround brings clarity to the differences that exist and how YOU can begin to lead your organization like a "successful startup". In addition to telling this entertaining, relatable story, the author provides tactical ways to implement the approaches described by Will and Matt.Whether you are feeling stuck in a legacy organization, are working for a start-up or want to just raise your team's game, this is a MUST READ for you.

Fun, practical, actionable parable-style book on making a business more creative and competitive
I loved reading this book. As a lifelong fan of the parable-style of business book, Jeff's 5-day turn will be ranked among the best. He weaves together dozens of fantastic, actionable ideas into a fun, easy narrative about an exec turning around his company and making it more competitive, creative and profitable. The characters are believable and relatable and it's easy to see people you know in each of them. The challenges they are facing and their various reactions are clearly born from the real-life experiences of the very seasoned executive, Jeff Hilimire, that wrote it.While the book's focus is a large company exec, I would strongly recommend it to anyone from any company size that wants to improve their department, their company or themselves.

A highly-effective way of working that makes workplace culture human... again!
Jeff Hilimire lays out a straightforward plan for sustained success. His approach to culture-building will resonate with anyone who has a burden for leading well. This book is relevant to both young entrepreneurs who need an organizational framework and leaders within large companies trapped in the haze of corporate inertia.Even better is the Fable format that is highly engaging while providing rich context on the leadership lessons and culture-building process that Hilimire champions in The 5-Day Turnaround. If you're looking for a relevant blueprint for success in today's ever-changing and, often, volatile business environment, The 5-Day Turnaround will instruct and inspire you toward aspirational results.

Simple, yet meaty. Well worth your time and attention.
In the tradition of great business books that teach through storytelling, The 5-Day Turnaround makes the complex simple. The book recounts an all too familiar story of a leader "stuck" at a big company trying to make a difference yet caught up in doing things the way they have always been done. Over the course of (you guessed it) 5 days, the leader learns the key lessons of how to operate more like a startup. As a former 15+ year corporate worker now turned entrepreneur, it very much resonated...and I wish the book was published years ago. Simple, yet meaty. Well worth your time and attention.

Great read that makes an immediate impact
I love business books that also tell a story, and this is a great one. The narrative is engaging, and the characters are relatable. I read the whole thing in two afternoons at the beach, and returned from vacation excited to put these ideas to work. It's so easy to get caught in the status quo of a large organization. This book lays out practical ways to take control, and make the changes you need to become faster and more nimble. I particularly love the section around calendar management and the importance of building in flex time to think and solve problems.
