In terms of quality and price per kilo, this is a solid deal. In terms of flavor, especially steeped in the traditional way, as long as your water is not too hot, this yerba has a good flavor and is very smooth. Que Maravilla! What a delight! - Here are my brief notes, I've been drinking yerba mate for 30+ years, used to like smokiness but for about 12 yrs. now I'm not keen on it. I would say this yerba is ever so 'slightly' smoked, strength is strong-good, noted 'punch', about a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. Negligible dust content, no need to invert. Medium to slightly bright green color, no yellow at all. Beautiful even medium cut yerba with stems. See photos, one dry and one after 2nd 'wash'. Good for a second 'cebada'=washing(?), meaning 1 1/2 to 2 (personal size) thermos quantity of water depending on how much you fill your gourd/mug. Tried many 'yerbas' including organic ones, many don't pack the 'punch' and/or are pricey, of course. If you drink everyday it adds up and I'm always trying to find a better deal. Great bulk price (6) for this yerba, that's 6.6lbs. For deals and to shop around to try, I recommend going to; go yerba mate dot com, after buying from them for years, the organic ones in 5lb bags (Brazil) where a good deal but lacking in strength, however it may be right for you, a matter of taste. I was surprised to find the 'eco teas' brand to be excellent but too pricey for my budget, if money is not an issue, I highly recommend if your personal taste matches my own. It's the 'traditional' yerba in Eco Teas, it's fair trade, organic, no smokiness, from Oregon by way of Argentina. My personal preference is air dried, no smokiness or low background note. I find the Brazilian and Paraguayan 'yerbas' to have another 'yerba' vibe, not just the 'Terere' kind, and most smoked or not, weaker overall. BTW the 'balibetov' brand promoted by Amazon in my opinion looks good (color, cut, no dust) but has no punch, no depth of flavor, no personality. Consequently, all this said, I only look for Argentine yerba. I plan on trying other variations of this brand because I liked this one so much. I'm going to check with them on the T.A.C.C. (gluten free) which I believe is inherent in any yerba but I've noticed they are trending the 'Libre de TACC' symbol, which makes me think maybe there is some gluten in processing (?) don't know, I'm thinking similar to US labeling of 'processed in a facility that also processes nuts' . Also of concern are 'agro-quimicos' (chemicals) and I will leave a follow up note here if possible after contacting them.
