Our boards came with a shrink wrap-type covering on them. Are these removable or supposed to be kept on?

Mine didn't come with a shrink wrap covering.

Are the light bulbs replaceable

I would say no there led they will last a long time then replace the string

It's a pine veneer with a great coating of polyurethane finish.
