Praying Through Your Pregnancy shows a mother how to provide an early head start for her child through the power of prayer. With fresh spiritual insight, each chapter reveals what is happening with the baby's development that week, starting with the very first moment of conception, when God begins the creation of either a boy or a girl. Readers will learn how the confidence they place in God affects the healthy development of their precious growing baby, and how to reduce their own stress and anxiety by looking to the Creator. In this interactive guidebook, the author shares excerpts from her pregnancy journal as an encouragement for women to write their own thoughts and feelings, and each chapter ends with a Mother's Prayer and Scriptures for Meditation. Praying Through Your Pregnancy was a 2011 Christian Book Award Finalist. Review: A must for every mother-to-be. - After spending years praying a personalized form of Hannah's Prayer (1 Samuel 1:9-11) that God would bless us with a child. It was a great delight and blessing to find out we were expecting a child. So, I desired a prayer book to help guide my devotions during my pregnancy and purchased this book. "Praying Through Your Pregnancy" is a great resource to any mom-to-be who wants to pray for their child through each stage of physical development, spiritual development and their future as well. The book is structured so that each week of pregnancy includes the following sections: - Excerpt from Jennifer's Pregnancy Journal - Devotional Section ~ An overview of the current stage of physical development based on the current week. ~ A complementary thought to the physical development on what associated spiritual development item should be prayed for. ~ Threaded through the devotional is Jennifer's inspirational story of her pregnancies and the stories of other praying mothers, which provide an uplifting backdrop. - Scripture for Thought and Meditation - A Mother's prayer for the week - Journal Questions (with Journaling Space) I think everyone will use the book differently, but I read the weekly entry as part of an extended devotional time on Sundays to help guide my thoughts for the week. I used the prayer portion through the week as a guide for my own personal prayer and starting place to explore the themes of the week. I read through the Journal thoughts and thought about them, but didn't journal on the items. I think in the future I'd use these questions in the personal journal / baby journal I keep. During the pregnancy I was journaling using the book "Love Letters to My Baby", so I didn't add any extra journaling time. The best part of the book is that it was a great tool God used to take me on a journey toward growing closer to Him, while praying for and praising Him for the privilege of having a child. I really enjoyed the journey and felt it added spiritual depth to my pregnancy that I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on. Review: My all time favorite - I love this book. It was gifted to me at the start of my first pregnancy and I thoroughly enjoyed having this prayer guide to go through as I experienced the ups and downs of my first pregnancy. The author hits every point. She educates you on what your body is doing or how your baby is growing at the different stages of your pregnancy. She is encouraging and offers a variety of ways to pray for your child before they even arrive. It helped me spiritually to begin praying for my child before their birth and gave me prompts I continue to use today to pray for my now two kids, five years after receiving the book. I went through it through my second pregnancy as well. And the Lord was faithful to meet me in that time of prayer and covering as well. I now send this book to all my friends and families who are just starting out. I am very grateful for this prayer guide.

I recommend!
Before being blessed with a baby, I went in search of a faith based book which I could read to encourage me in my waiting period. The moment my prayers were answered, this book was the first item I invested in, having embarked on this wonderful journey. Thus far it has been a great help. What I love about this book is the well thought out structure: developmental information about the baby by weeks, developmental milestones to pray for and scriptural references to meditate on. The bonus is the opportunity to record your thoughts each week which one can share with your baby. A well thoughtout book. I recommend to any mother who is embarking on this wonderful journey of motherhood.

What a WONDERFUL book! And I say that not only because I was Dan and Jennifer's Birth Doula! I could hardly put it down and I'm too old to be pregnant! I almost immediately loaned it to a pregnant friend at church (yet another "miraculous" pregnancy!). Since then, we've purchased about 20 copies to give to all of our nieces, nephews, God-daughters, etc. Some of them are only 1 year old now! A few women at our Christian church have done the same. I loved the insights to pray not only for your baby's physical qualities, but also how Jennifer and Carolyn linked that to your baby's spiritual qualities. What a great idea! For example, perfect physical vision but also the "heart" vision to see beyond someone's words and into their heart; to see as Jesus sees. Each chapter was short, thereby not overwhelming when new families have so many other preparations to make. I was very surprised to read all that Jennifer has lived through at the end of the book. What an amazing and overcoming champion of a woman she is! This is not the story of a victim. Indeed, Jennifer is not only a survivor, she is a THRIVER! I only fell more in love with her, Dan, Micah Kekoa, and Malia Grace with each passing page. I HIGHLY recommend this book for ALL pregnant women who would like to pray through their pregnancies. Jennifer and Carolyn even left room for individual responses. I would CHERISH reading these if they had been written by my own mother. Each scripture was also perfectly placed. I praise God for inspiring them to write this book! Praying Through Your Pregnancy: An Inspirational Week-by-Week Guide for Moms-to-Be

Great way to pray through each week of pregnancy
I love this book! I chose to read one week at time. ( it even has week 41, for women that go past their due date.) I felt like this was an easy read, easy to stay engaged and full of encouragement! It’s a great way to have something to look forward to, and know what to pray for each week. I would recommend this for first time mothers, or mother’s that have a big age gap between babies.

what a blessing
I first heard the authors on KLOVE, a christian radio station, and could not wait to get the book. What an inspiration it has been to my prayer life during this special time. I love how the authors describe the physical descriptions of how the baby is maturing but go deeper into a spiritual application. This is an excerpt from week 8 for example. "This week your baby's feet and toes are also beginning to form. I want my children to walk with Christ all the days of their lives, no matter where their feet take them. I want them to know that Jesus is always with them." It has been such an encouragement to read through the journaling and stories of the author and I love the scripture verses she encourages us to look up and the questions for your own journal entries. But my favorite thing about this book are the Mothers Prayers at the end of each week. I have used these prayers to write some of my own for my sweet baby boy. I recommend this book with 5 stars to anyone who is pregnant or as a wonderful gift for the mom-to-be.

Thankful
I am really glad I found this book. It was amazing praying each prayer and meditating on the scriptures day and night. Lovely that each prayer corresponded with each week of pregnancy.

Highly Recommend
I am now on Week 18, and I cannot say enough great things about this book. It is beautifully written, and the prompts encourage me to journal about topics that I may not have conjured up on my own. I cannot wait to share this with my little one someday. It truly helps you keep perspective, and it also does a nice job of summarizing your baby's developmental milestones each week. If you are looking for some encouraging prayers and stories that develop your faith and prompt you to journal about your prayers, hopes and dreams for your child, this is it. I will definitely be buying this book in the future for friends who are moms to be.

Must have book when pregnant
If ur pregnant and believe in praying for ur baby then please get this book. It's perfect! I started a few weeks late but love it. Totally worth it. It has a reading part which is well written, vs to meditate on, a prayer and a journaling bit to reflect after each chapter.
