Just use a wet paper towel or non abrasive scrub pad. You don't need this. I returned. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stainless chain mail is the newest way to scrub cast iron *by W***N on October 2, 2015* I love my old cast iron pots & pans, most of whom are older than I am. Take proper care, and your great-grand-kids can be cooking from the same pan as your Grandmother did. Which brings me to this review- proper care. Thistle Moon noticed I had purchased and reviewed another chain mail cast iron scrubber, so offered me their set for review. Since it's a complete set, it's quite a bit nicer.Besides the stainless- steel chain-mail scrubber (back to that in a moment) this handy set also has two rubber scrapers and a silicone handle cover, which protects your hands from being burnt. The scrapers are good for when you just want a little quick clean up.You don't want to remove the layer of 'seasoning". Once a pan is well seasoned, generally you don't want to use detergent or soap or get carried away scraping. All you need to do is get rid of the food detritus and most of the grease. Stainless chain mail is the newest way to scrub cast iron- but don't get carried away and over clean, even so.I dump some boiling water in the pan, let is soak/cool then use the scrubber to get off food particles. Then wipe with a paper towel, heat/dry on the stove and add a little bacon grease. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the chainmail scrubber! *by C***Y on October 19, 2015* We use cast iron at our home quite often. We used to use Teflon non-stick pans, but there is too much negative information out there in regards to Teflon pans leaching chemicals, etc into your food. I am not sure if it is all true, why take a chance? Plus a well seasoned cast iron skillet is actually quite non-stick if properly cared for. And there is something about the old-school primitiveness of cast iron that is just way cool.This cast iron care tool set is a welcome addition. The scrapers are very handy for cleaning. The heat resistant handle is quite good for lifting or moving hot skillets. But my favorite tool is the chainmail scrubber. It is by far the easiest tool I have ever used to clean cast iron pots and pans. It even scrubs the really messy stuff quickly and easily. This morning I cooked up some Kung Pao chicken in a skillet. The sauce can be quite sticky and leaves the skillet messy. I let the pan cool while I ate, then rinsed it with hot water and spent about 30 seconds scrubbing it with the chainmail scrubber and after rinsing the skillet was good as new.
