Star Wars Goodnight Darth Vader Review: Different from Darth Vader and Son - This is a remake of Goodnight Moon. Maybe that is obvious to some people, but it was not obvious to me. The flow and structure is different than Darth Vader & Son. DV&S has a new scene on every page, unrelated to the previous page's scene. This book, by contrast, starts with an over-aching plot for the first couple of pages and revisited at the end, about Vader reading a bedtime story. What follows are two-frame spreads where two pages complete each idea about a Star Wars character and their particular bedtime scenario. It's a cute book, but not quite the bang for the buck that you get if you have both the Darth Vader and Son book as well as the calendar (they don't copy each other exactly). Regardless of Goodnight Darth Vader not being my favorite, I do plan to continue to collect all the books in this series. My 3yo son knows the characters, and I know the jokes, so it's a win-win. Strong work overall! Review: excellent gift for any star wars fan with little ones..... - I bought this as a xmas gift for my friend to read to his kid for bed time. he got a good laugh out of the book as it mentions quite a few characters and adds cute lil rhymes to the mix. I read it myself and thought it was cute as well. this is a must have for any sw fan.

Finally, a nice Goodnight book in the Star Wars universe
This is basically a Goodnight book in the world of Star Wars, Jeffrey Brown's style. I like it as a Goodnight book, but there are better in this market. It also works as a Star Wars book that you can peruse for a chuckle. This is a could-have if your kid already love Star Wars characters, you are a fervent Star Wars collector or you like Jeffrey Brown art. Goodnight Darth Vader is a departure of previous instances such as Darth Vader and Son or Jedi Academy. Indeed, this is a book intended to be read to your kid or with your kid to put him in the mood for sleep. Therefore, there is no Star Wars action on it. SPOILERS :) The book starts with Darth Vader trying to get Leia and Luke to sleep and ends with Darth Vader, Luke and Leia falling asleep and the mandatory goodnight to each of them. What is in between is a collection of various scenes (I counted 26) where characters from the Star Wars universe are going to sleep presented within two pages and a rhyme on each. Sometimes the rhyme doesn't work, but the art remains interesting. It's worth mentioning that this book include character from the the prequels, clone wars and the original trilogy, which is very cool. So overall, your milage may vary. I like this book for what it is. However, for a quick chuckle, I prefer Darth Vader and Son or Vader's Little Princess.

This book is so fun!
I love this book! It is very similar to "Goodnight Moon" but with a Star Wars twist that is very fun and enjoyable for parents to read to their kids. It is our responsibility to indoctrinate them early!! ;) I bought this book for myself and my kids, but now I find myself getting it for babies' first birthdays. The parents have loved them! The Force is strong with Jeffrey Brown! Check out his other titles as well. Start with "Vader and Son" and/or "Vader's Little Princess." So good!!
