I've been buying Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw Calcium for about 2 years. It's a plant-based calcium from Algae & also has raw probiotics & enzymes. I feel it's helping my calcium level to rise. It doesn't bother my sensitive stomach & the pills are not too big & easy to swallow.

Best quality calcium supplement I’ve found. I was taking this for a couple of months along with my cocktail of other vitamins. My dr said my calcium levels were a little low so she wanted me to take a supplement. Since I had not had a scan to measure bone density, I cannot attest to any changes there, but one outward thing I noticed was how my nails were super strong and growing really fast. After a couple months, I decided to try a cheaper but still highly-rated calcium just to see if it would work the same. Within a week of ONLY switching out the calcium supplement, my nails almost turned soft and started breaking and peeling and barely growing. I also had digestive upset which I had not had before. Everything else stayed the same except I just swapped to a different calcium. Needless to say, I immediately stopped taking the other brand and ordered this one on auto-ship again. I will be sticking with this brand from now on.

I waited two years to write this review since I first started taking this particular calcium supplement. About two years ago, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my lumbar spine with a T-score of -2.7 even though I was only 57 years old. After doing some research, I decided to try this Garden of Life raw calcium supplement. For the next two years, I took three capsules a day (with some skipped days if I forgot), but I combined this with strength training exercise once or twice a week. For the strength training I mostly used Suzie Hathaway's "Safe Strength Training for Osteoporosis Prevention" video which is truly excellent. And I combined this with aerobic exercise another two or three days a week. I had been wondering, all this time, whether the effort was worth it. I had my DEXA scan last week and my T-score in my lumbar spine had gone from -2.7 to -1.5! I was AMAZED and so thankful! Who wants to have osteoporosis in ones 50's?! I feel I should mention the machine they used for the DEXA scan had been replaced and upgraded, but it is highly unlikely that the change in machine could have made THAT much difference. So, I can testify that this actually works! I plan to keep up the effort and, hopefully, reverse even the osteopenia in a few more years! I did not take the S tablets (other than just a few times early on) because I read that, although they do grow bone, they can make the bone brittle. So, my results were achieved with just this raw calcium and exercise. I also like taking this calcium better than the normal kind you get at a grocery store because it's smaller, shaped like a capsule, and I only have to take three a day. I usually taketwo at one point in the day and one a a differernt point, spacing them out. Thank you, Garden of Life, for making a truly excellent supplement!

This calcium supplement is a great whole foods version with real foods to nourish your body and get you the calcium and vitamin D that you need to work synergistically to help your bones. It’s great that it has MK-7 in the formula as well, which will further help absorption and direct the nutrients to the appropriate area so they don’t calcify in your arteries instead. ** proceed with caution, if you are allergic to pineapple or papaya foods! In the enzyme blend this contains bromelain and papain which are derived from a heavy concentration of papaya and pineapple. Unfortunately, there are business laws in place to protect proprietary blends like this so the company isn’t mandated to state exactly how much of each enzyme is in their “blend”. If you are someone who is sensitive to products/foods, or or suffering from a medical illness I would suggest finding a different product on Amazon that specifically states how much of each ingredient is in there. That way you can know exactly what you are reacting to you and if it helps or if it hurts.
