The only noticeable difference I can tell is:1. The Apple one has felt/soft material lining on the inside flaps that touch your Ipad2. The cut outs on the connecting sides are deeper on the GUDOU (so minor that I won't even address it again below)Since I already have a Paperlike screen protector, the no soft lining isn't a deal breaker for me. I really purchased this case to have a way to prop up my device and add some nice color. Great case to use at home. Definitely would not recommend for traveling since the sides of your Ipad are definitely going to get scratched up and it doesn't seen to have a lot of shock absorption (neither does the Apple one though).Overall, serves as a nice cover for cosmetic purposes, is lightweight, and design is the closest I have seen to the Apple smart folio without soft lining.Also, no fishy smell on mine...I may have just gotten lucky.*edited 7/17/20*I noticed that the seams are actually splitting. It's not terrible, but sort of lame that it's only been one day with minimal use and it happened. It fits my Pro nicely with a slim and lightweight feel, the back magnet has a very strong hold and the cutout for the camera is spot on. I bought the "dark green" color which I'd say is just a bit darker than Apple's Cactus color but it's a nice color nonetheless.My one negative however, is definitely the smell.... the velvety material on the inside has a very off putting fishy scent to it. I've had the case for about a month now and you can still smell it. Although, it's not as strong as when I first received it. No, It smells like a dead fish. Not sure why it smells like that but that's the best I could describe it, pretty strange and off putting honestly. I doused it with air freshener and let it air out. The smell sort of disappeared but still lingers, definitely better than before.Other than the fishy smell, I recommend it lol.
