Yakima Mast-Style TubeTop Bike Frame Adapter, Seat, Stem Adapter for Hitch Racks

Worked very well to attach my wife’s low-step trek to our Thule receiver rack.

I have a platform rack for my vehicle, so the sole purpose of this extender was to mount my carbon fiber bikes to my work stand. This bar works perfectly. It is way more sturdy and nice looking than I actually needed, but I am glad I spent the extra money. I leave the bar locked into the stand and simply slide the bike up into it. This is as quick and easy as locking into the stand itself. This approach does allow the bike to swing, but that hasn't been a problem and isn't the fault of the extender. Happy customer, would recommend to others that can't safely lock onto their carbon frames and don't have enough space on the seat tube.

Keeps the bikes on the rack nice and stable. Seems like most adult bikes nowadays do not have a straight frame. I was barely able to fit two mountain bikes on a 4 rack hitch since they didn't fit straight. Handle bars and seats get in the way. I purchased two of these bars and was able to nicely fit them side-by-side, with definite space for two more bikes now. The product is a great idea, but an extra expense that might make you think twice about it. But, without it, I would never be able to fit four adult bikes.

Easy to use, sturdy, and securely holds bike up on bike rack. Easy to transport bar as well. The tiny buttons to release/open the bars at the ends are a bit tricky to push down if you have big/ weak fingers- but they may get easier to use as time goes on. Maybe they are just stiff because the bar is new? Otherwise, very happy with purchase.

I have four bikes, three of which are step-thru. This item allows me to haul my step-thru bikes on my truck bike rack. Give yourself some time to get used to the loading routine and you'll be fine. The build quality is solid.

My wife’s cruiser bike can’t be easily mounted on our bike rack, due to the slanting frame. This product makes mounting a snap, and it’s very easy to use. The telescoping cylindrical bar should fit any size bike. I reviewed other less expensive products and was concerned that their light-weight construction could result in structural failure during transport. I have no such concern with this item; it’s sturdy and the connection to the bike’s seat post and bar stem is securely solid. I think it’s well-worth the extra cost for the peace of mind that the bike will still be on the rack when we reach our destination.

It works as it should but the swing arms on the end do not feel as strong as I would have hoped. Also wish the expanding bar had a twist lock to prevent sliding once secured to the bike. Might not be needed but the extra safety would be nice

We love our Yakima spare wheel mounted bike rack, but our two bikes didn't sit on it too well due to the angle of the crossbar on my partner's bike. This is a really quick and easy solution to that problem. As with the bike rack itself, this accessory is very robust and well-made and we now have no concerns at all about how the bike sit on the rack.
