Are you placing the under wrap first?

yes, the athletic tape holds the pre wrap in place.

I see a review that says this isn't Mueller brand tape and that each roll is only 10 yards. Can you confirm the brand and dimensions please?

This listing is for Mueller Tape; 1 1/2" x 15 yards (mTape). On any given day there are between 10 and 20 sellers of this item. Some of them have high ratings and sell only authentic merchandise. Unfortunately there are sometimes sellers who sell lower quality merchandise in places of the correct product that is listed. This can happen on ANY Amazon listing so pay attention to the seller's rating. If they are below 95% you should look at the feedback specific to THAT seller before you buy. If you get a bad lot please return to Amazon and complain. Amazon takes note of these kinds of problems and limits sellers who have them.

Is this rippable by hand or do you need scissors?

It tears pretty easy 90% of the time, but never need scissors. Good tape.

Is this good for wraping my calf

It's a standard athletic tape -- we've used it for wrists and arm stuff, but I can't see why you couldn't use it on a calf...
