Review: A great knife! - The knife's razor-sharp edge that comes out of the box ready to use, and that's a good selling point. The weight and feel of it speaks to durability, and it seems it can withstand beating. Just holding it in your hands, you can feel it's sturdy construction, excellent weight balance, and it comes with a high-quality Kydex sheath for your safety. The handle itself is nice and for me, the fit in my hands allows for a good grip on it for any use. If you're looking for a good knife, this is definitely one you should consider. I also bought the shorter one too...just because.
Review: one tough knife - I had a look at all sorts of knife brands when considering buying one. KA-BAR happens to have one of the best reputations in my opinion. Then I looked at what kind of knife I wanted. Something that wouldn't slip out of my hand out field if it was wet, that holds an edge even when being abused and would last a long, long time. This knife fits those criteria. When I got this knife, the handle feels fantastic. It has grip without the soft grip rubber feel that degrades and disintegrates over time. You'd know what I mean if you've held one. The bottom end cap hasn't been needed for anything yet, but its rock solid and I can understand why people have said that they have used it as a hammer. The guard has zero looseness to it and the grip cannot move at all (that's a good thing - very solid and sturdy). Just make sure you have that extra level of knife safety about you when handling it, it is disturbingly sharp. I accidentally gave myself a little nick on the thumb, where most knives wouldn't have broken the skin had I done the same thing (don't ask what I did, it's really hard to explain). The sheath is good for both left and right handed release. I even turned it upside-down and shook it hard for a while to see if it would come out. It was good to see that it stayed there. I'm not sure if it would still be like that after extended use, because the guard pushes up and over a bump in the sheath and with wear and tear it might wear down over time. I'll have to wait and see. It would scare the living hell out of any home invader, or anyone you chose to point it at. But overall I am VERY happy with my knife. My wife (who is Army) now wants me to get her one too. a good buy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will the knife in the sheath fit into a pants pocket? (casual everyday pants)**
A: It's an 11.5 " razor sharp survival knife bud, it's not made to carry in your pocket. Buy a $20 folding knife on amazon if that's what you're looking for.

**Q: how long is the blade and how long is the whole knife?**
A: Blade length = 7"Overall = 11-3/4"Came in great shape. Shaving sharp

**Q: is the sheath molle capable?**
A: You may need to use Malice Clips to fully secure the sheath to the MOLLE webbing. I tried it with para-cord and it worked ok, but Malice Clips weave into the webbing and have holes spaced appropriately for the webbing and the KYDEX KA-BAR Fighting Knife sheath.

**Q: The description says that the knife is imported, i thought ka-bar was all made in the usa. is this product made in the usa?**
A: The knife is made in the USA...The sheath system is made in Taiwan...That's why it says BOTH "Imported" and "Made in USA"...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent blade. Very study and has a good weight ...
*by D***D on December 3, 2014*

Excellent blade. Very study and has a good weight to it. Not too big for me(I'm over 6' tall & wear XL gloves). After much deliberation and research, I chose against the leather handle - supposedly longer life and I do not regret it. It's a great feel. I got it for camping and anything else - so I haven't beat it up, yet. However, based on experience, the quality and feel, I'm confident this blade will do it's job when needed. I bought a leather sheath as well and don't regret it - I feel that compared to the hard sheath, it's better for quick access. I also feel that aesthetically, the leather sheath looks better for casual carry. One thing you may need to do with either sheath, if you plan on wearing this on your belt - especially the leather sheath - is attach some 550 cord to secure the tip of the sheath(there's a hole built-in) to your leg to stabilize it when pulling it out. Link for Leather sheath: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GREUD0/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_15 In case you're wondering why I chose the hard sheath if I like the leather so much is to compare the two. And I got the hard sheath just in case I need to lash it to the outside of my camping gear or if I'm going through rough terrain. The Hard sheath also has a bit of a "lock" to it. So you may need to practice wearing it and pulling it out a few times to develop muscle memory and speed. In terms of maintenance, I use mineral oil on the blade and store it in the cardboard sleeve it came in(as recommended by manufacturer). Haven't had to sharpen it yet b/c as I mentioned, I haven't really beat it up yet and mine came very sharp. But I did take sharpening into consideration when I selected the straight-edge against the serrated. From my research, it seems that the serrated it a bit more difficult to sharpen. And from what I read, the straight-edge is the one preferred overall. I also took into consideration that if SHTF, straight edge would be the one that would be easier to maintain in a pinch. If serrated is what you're looking for, I'd recommend carrying a folder or another smaller one and saving the Ka-bar for the heavy-duty lifting. Feel free to message me with any questions or comments. Thanks
