Review of Frankenstein Action Figure
First of all, I'd like to say hello to the people who enjoyed, when they were children, Universal Studios's classic monster movies. In this moment, I'm going to review the Frankenstein Action Figure created by Diamond Select Toys, a well-known toy factory. This figure is 7" tall (17 cm)and reminds us of Boris Karloff, a famous Hollywood actor who performed Dr. Victor Frankenstein's creature in a 1931 film. According to Mary Shelley's novel and the film, the monster was created from the body parts of the deceased and given life through artificial means. The moral of the story is that the Monster ultimately turned on its master, and on humanity, because it was more human and compassionate than its creator. The figure itself is highly detailed, has some points of articulation, and has a very peculiar accesory: a stretcher like the ones we might see at a morgue. We can also see a small catalogue inside the package. The painting details make the figure real, as if it was alive. Due to its characteristics, this toy is not suitable for kids. It's an item for adult collectors which should be displayed on a shelf. The package has been nicely decorated with a picture showing Boris Karloff's face on one side of the box. On the other side, we can read a brief synopsis of the 1931 movie and pictures of other figures belonging to the same series. Collectors around the world shouldn't miss the opportunity to purchase this wonderful and fantastic product. Their satisfaction would be guaranteed.

Diamond Select: Frankenstein Monster
I bought this epic action figure from Diamond Select back in December (along with Count Dracula) and since then I haven't been able to put it down, I have to pick it up and "play" with it for a few minutes every time I look at it. The figure is heavy and solid (which seems to be the standard for the line, although I currently just own two of them with more on the way) and the sculpting and detail is fantastic from the blocked shoes to the cut wrists to the bolts in the neck and everything in between. The articulation of the figure is somewhat limited (also on par with this fantastic series) and has articulation at the neck, shoulders, forearms (I can't really say "wrists" as the Monster's arms extend beyond the cuffs of the jacket) and both feet, giving the Monster seven points of articulation in total. His only accessory is a large operation table which you must assemble yourself (it took me a few minutes, I found the included directions sheet after I assembled it!) and although the table is pretty lightweight it still looks fantastic with a paint wash that makes it look like rusted metal. All in all, this series of Universal Monsters helped to reawaken my passion for the classics, and you will not be disappointed by adding this tragic creation of man to your monster shelf.

Model of a lying down Frankenstein monster
Its kind of funny that so many reviews have complained that the figure of the monster does not stand on its own, because the feet arn't level. The figure plainly isn't SUPPOSED to stand, it comes with a stretcher because this is a model which represents the point in the 1931 film when the monster strangles Dr Waldham, the professor who was about to give him an autopsey. The head on this figire tilts foreward a little, because it is formed to fit the U-shaped holder that sticks out from the stretcher-gurney. The monsters feet are not level because he was sculpted to be lying down. This is a model of a Frankenstein monster which is lying down on the stretcher, and THATS what you should want if you expect to be happy with it. The picture of a standing monster that is shown by amazon is a misrepresentation, sort of; they should have included a picture of it fitted into his intended lying position on the stretcher. The monster DOES look cool once it is lying on its gurney, but it looks somewhat awkward if you want it to force it to stand. One other thing; someone said something about the model having movable head and wrists, this is BS! The only part that can move WHATSOEVER is its arms from the sholders down, so that he can have them at his sides as he is lying down or he can be reaching up towards the skylight as he is lying down. Even his rib cage is somewhat flattened, as is the case when you are in the lying down on your back position

but I like the classic outfit so I bought it anyway
I knew that this version of Frankenstein's monster wasn't that articulated, but I like the classic outfit so I bought it anyway. When it arrived the table accessory was missing one side, rendering it a useless pile of junk. However I can't complain too much because I bought it from Warehouse Deals at a really good price, so even missing part of the table it's still a good value. The Monster is articulated at the head, arms, forearms and feet (well, kind of). I know he's supposed to go on the table, but he's also cool just standing. The likeness to Karloff is spot on. Don't expect any dynamic posing from this one.
