Review: FINALLY: a side-sleeper’s story - I ABSOLUTELY thought the shape of this pillow was a gimmick, but I had gotten sick of how the Pillow Cube didn’t work if I ever turned onto my back or stomach during the night—that sweet 90* angle doesn’t do well on your vertebrae!—and was somehow always too high or too low of an angle for comfort. So I tried one of those “customizable” pillows that is 3-in-1, and I spent a painful few weeks jamming up my shoulder in a fruitless attempt to match the high point of the pillow with the side of my head: either my neck had no support, or I was tensing my shoulder against the pillow all night trying to keep it where I needed it. Then I tried one of those “cervical spine” pillows that looks like it came out of a sleep study in Picasso’s cubist period. No matter what, I couldn’t figure out where the makers *think* heads go or how they think necks work, because it made no sense and was even less comfortable. So I am at the end of my rope: exhausted, waking up in pain, constantly getting the crick out of my neck, and generally tired of doing battle with a bundle of cotton in exchange for a bad night’s sleep. It’s in THAT desperation that I say what the heck, I’ll try your dumb pillow with its bow tie shape. It’ll never work. The saga will continue… UNTIL IT DID. THE PILLOW WORKED!! The indent on the bottom means my shoulder doesn’t have to fight the pillow for position. The really sturdy loft and even distribution means my neck always has a comfortable angle. The way it slightly slopes toward the bottom corners means I can lie this way and that without having to shift the pillow with me. The indent at the bottom means there’s no pressure on my upper back if I end up sleeping face up, and an easy little space to sneak into if I end up sleeping face down. I have been a miserable side-sleeper for SO LONG, but that story is over now. **Q: Where can I find covers for it, given its unique shape?**
A: Honeydew Sleep’s bamboo pillowcase for their Scrumptious side sleeper pillow may work. They sell it separately. You could compare measurements to see if they are compatible. I love it!! Good luck!:))

**Q: Where is this pillow made??**
A: Made in China according to the tag on the pillow. And there's no Oeko-Tex certification on the label or any indication of anything organic. The company is not listed on the Oeko-Tex website as having a certification even though Eli and Elm uses the Oeko-Tex logo on their website. They claim to have a storefront in a strip mall in Bloomfield, CT, but I can find no store hours, and the phone number is just an 800 number. The BBB listing says it's in the process of being revised, so the reviews have been taken down.

**Q: Do I need to let my pillow air out before using? It has an odor upon opening. I don’t understand why some say it has an odor and others don’t.**
A: It has a strong odor, which I think is latex. I've been airing it out for a week, and it still smells. At first I was not concerned because I thought it was Oek-Tex certified to not have harmful out-gassing. However, even though the blurb says Oeko-Tex certified, the pillow itself doesn't have any certification label on it -- not oeko-tex or organic. I looked it up on the Oeko-tex website and there were zero results for certifications earned by this company. I should have done more research before I bought this thing directly from Eli and Elm.

**Q: Mine is too flat, no enough fill.  How do I get more file?  I assume this would be provided by the manufacture/supplier at no additional cost.  ???**
A: SO Why $140?!?!..So heavy, it doesn’t hold its shape and goes flat, ZERO SUPPORT. I get newentor pillow as a gift from my partner. The shape supports my neck through the night and I've honestly felt more comfortable when I wake up.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable so far

I've struggled with neck and shoulder pain for a long time. I sleep on my side and rather than sleeping on my back I tried a few different pillows. Last night I tried this pillow for the first time. I gave it a few hours to breathe and take form after being sealed. The comfort of this pillow was really nice, I woke up without any pain. The crescent shape seems helpful. For me, it appears to be the right amount of fill inside the pillow. Although I do know with this type of pillow I may need to add filling down the road because of wear. It did smell really bad last night, to the point I almost wanted to not use it. This morning I took it outside on the back porch to let it air out. This afternoon it's much better. If it still lingers tonight I'll repeat tomorrow and hopefully that should do it. I had a coop pillow before that had that smell and I did the same thing and it took care of the smell. Also, I have a satin pillow case that is rectangular shape but it worked fine with this shape, it's obviously not a perfect fit and isn't aesthetically pleasing but that doesn't bother me. Maybe down the road if I come across a crescent shape satin or silk pillowcase I'll buy it. If things change with the comfortable feeling of this pillow or I start waking up with neck pain I'll update this review. For now, it was very nice to wake up without neck and shoulder pain, I'll take the win!
