On the back of the door, there is a battery compartment cover. On a number of occasions, the cover became dislodged, loosening the connection of the batteries and making the keypad and fingerprint scanner inoperable. I had to use the key to access the safe and wouldn't want to have that kind of malfunction if I needed access.
