GP 98602 Cordless Oscillating Multi Tool Kit

The old saying, " You get what you pay for " most of the time implies in order to get a decent -- anything --, you need to skip the less expensive and buy the more expensive items. Well, I have now learned that sometimes you may pay less for something and get more than what you thought, and as you have guessed this is the case with this tool. I don't usually write many reviews however thought it important to bring to the attention to anyone needing or interested in purchasing one of these tools to just try this. I honestly think you will be impressed with what you get. Without going into a lot of detail all I will say is I have bought and tried two similar tools made by different manufacturers. One was $10 more and the other was $25 more. Both of these were returned because of problems encountered within 30 min's of using them. Also, I have noticed that some of these companies bait folks for good reviews in exchange for a free gift ( such as a free battery, etc.... ). This review is based from just my initial observation after using it and I in no way have received anything in return for the review. So now what I have observed is that this is exactly what is says it is " an oscillating tool ." The battery clips into place easily and lasts a long time at moderate use . You can adjust the speed of the tool from 1-6 with 6 being the highest speed and at the highest speed it is not as loud as the other two I have tried and also doesn't have as much vibration to your hand as the other two that I tried. The quick release lever works well and is simple, the tool heads supplied appear to be good quality and in using the scraper it worked very well in removing some very hard type caulking around our windows we are repairing. This tool doesn't have the light as some others do but that is not a deal breaker for me, it makes up for this in quality and design. It does have a 3 degree oscillating design which is really nice in aiding in its ability to cut/sand--etc... I believe this tool to be a great addition to the regular home handyman/woman. It is basic however there is nothing wrong in my opinion with a basic tool that does what it is suppose to. This has turned out to be a really great purchase, all I can say is it is once in a while when something like this impresses me, well done Galax Pro !!!

Best money I ever spent. I needed this tool the next day and was not willing to spend $150 for the name brand ones. This tool is one of the best in my bag. It does everything, the battery lasts a decent amount of time but charges very quick. I would definitely purchase this again.

The solar guy does a good job for home

It was cheap at 40 bucks but not so cheap that it should only cut about 4 inches of 3/4" plywood, then stop working. Sure it still runs, the motor turns, but it stopped vibrating, which means it no longer cuts anything. I would say you get what you pay for, but i paid 40 bucks. i expect it to do something. Ot's unbelievable that it lasted every bit of 3 minutes before it malfunctions and no longer cuts anything. I bought it only because it had 4 stars. And sometimes no name is just the same as name brand items, as the name brand companies also manufacture the no name brands, as they want the piece of the market as well. For instance, Coca Cola is more expensive than Acme brand soda. However, Acma doesn't produce soda, so they get thyeir soda through Coca Cola or other companies that make it, and they put the acme label on it. Same soda, different label. Why? Because these companies want that share of the market, and they are willing to put there product on the shelves under Acme name. Same with tools. Harbor freight tools are cheap but they are knock offs of big name brands.

Ok, so lets start with what's not good about this saw. The blades that come with this saw are not very good; I have not used the sanding pads so I can't say how they are. I mean, the blades work, just not very long. Once I put a different blade in this saw it was great. On to the good. This works almost as good as the corded saw I was using. It's not quite as powerful since it is battery powered and it does need charging every few hours but that is an acceptable trade off for the convenience. The best thing is the convenient way to change the blade. The lever system is easy and works great to swap blades.

Continuous high speed for about 20-30 minutes and the battery is done. The safety latch must be held down when using upside down as the vibration wants to lift it. Otherwise, works great, battery recharges quickly and the blades and sanding pads are good quality. First time owning and using this tool. Don’t forget your gloves and safety goggles.
