I was struck by how abusively they ... *by T***T on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 3, 2017* This is more of a docu-drama than any other genre. It was real guys from Bulgaria, a real nightclub in Vienna and real older "Johns" picking up these "straight" younger guys. What I found interesting is the way in which the director framed the story of these mostly married, straight guys who travel to Bulgaria to be "gay-for-pay", essentially. Some of these guys seemed almost crazy...like violence-crazy. I was struck by how abusively they talk of their wives...paying their families (Fathers, brothers), for them is apparently still a thing in this day and age. They do seem to love their children, but not so much their wives. Violence also seems to be second nature to them and it is incredible how easy they get in to fights,even with each other.There is no sex depicted, whatsoever, and I found this to be more a documentary of a the time they spend in Vienna and a snapshot of this particular moment in their lives. Some of them are still very immature, emotionally, but extremely grown up and worldly in their daily struggle to survive.
