Personally, I love it. But to each his own. Now, I will offer the follow caveat: I use it, as well as all “singles to go” with carbonated water from my Sodastream. So, my thoughts only pertain to this product when used with carbonated water. So, without a doubt the IBC Cherry Cola does taste better than RC Cherry Cola but I refuse to pay the extortionist pricing for it. Yes, I guess I can see where some people say it reminds them of cough syrup. My wife said the same thing when I gave her a drink. But she “didn’t hate it” in her words. But if were forced to use a “cough medicine” comparison I think it would be more accurate to compare the cherry flavor to that of Luden’s cherry lozenges. But in my opinion, it isn’t overwhelmingly strong. Yeah, the cherry flavor does seem a little unnatural compared to what you might expect from an actual bottle of cherry soda. But I am also aware that this isn’t an actual bottle of soda and as such it is highly unlikely that any drink mix, especially a cola, is going to taste exactly the same. I think there will always be a trade off for the convenience that singles to go offer...which is taste. I think RC has done a decent job at achieving that balance. It’s certainly better than the “balance” of some of them...such as A&W cream soda: a drink that I love, but in singles to go form a drink so disgusting that Novocain should be included in every box so you can’t taste it. I’m all about singles to go that are modeled on real bottled soft drinks and that aren’t one of the colors of the rainbow....you can find orange Sunkist, grape Crush, and such all day long but the colors that aren’t in a rainbow (colas & clears) are quite difficult to come by. And the offerings that do exist are usually limited and pricy. So, taking all that into account, I am pretty happy with RC Cherry Cola and most definitely will buy again! Review: chemical taste throughout - Been looking for a cola enhancer for water and gave this a try. I added a packet to a cold 16.9 oz sparkling water just as directed. I understand that taste is a personal thing so you can use this as a guide for your decision making process. After mixing I took my first sip. The initial taste buds said not bad, but a second later they shouted wait, I've got something else here. An overpowering chemical taste filled my mouth. I never give one taste all the decision making duties so I decided that another sip was in order. I thought maybe the mix wasn't complete so I it gave it a vigorous shake. Took another sip and ...........nope. All chemical. It's a shame they could not come up with an additive that had natural flavors to it. I guess I will need to keep looking.

Makes Good shaved ice syrup
The flavor plain is a bit odd, however I use these to make low sugar shaved ice syrup, and it works pretty well. I add 2 packets to a dry 20oz bottle, add a tad of xanthium gum, and a little sweetener. Shake well, then add water till full and shake more. Makes a decent cola flavored low sugar syrup for shaved ice.

Like powdered water enhancer product
Flavor is YUCKY, all cherry and no cola flavor at all. Would work okay, in a pinch, as a substitute for a real cherry flavor, on occasion, if you don't want to lose your money. Make sure it is really cold water with ice to make it palatable. Maybe add a few drops of liquid cherry water enhancer to make the cherry flavor more prominent......or just send it special delivery to your local hazardous waste dump yard. I wish they had sold it with a one box purchase option.

Decent but different flavor
I love Cherry RC and I love sugar free sodas. RC for whatever reason does not make a great tasting diet or zero sugar soft drink. And their Diet Rite has no flavor. Compared to name brand big cola "zero" sugar brands, this misses the mark. Those big brand "zero" colas taste more like their sugary counter parts than this does to actual Cherry RC cola in a can. However, mix it with a bottle of sparking water or from a carbonated soda stream, it's pretty good. It certainly doesn't taste like how I would expect the cola to taste out of a can. It does have a medicine type taste to it, and I can see how that puts people off. It not the same type of medicine taste in the 'Doctor' style soft drinks, but similar. and if you like those doctor drinks, you may like this. But it's going to take some more work for these powdered cola drinks to really taste strong like the cola from the can. In the mean time, as we see our options for diet soft drinks shrink in today's pandemic world, this is a nice thing to have handy to make a different flavored soft drink with carbonated water. Or mix to diet/unsweetened tea for a very interesting taste!

A very good attitude to water so that I can tolerate water so that's that's why I take it
I will say it doesn't taste like any kind of Coke or anything to me but it definitely has a cherry flavoring to me I'm bored as it help specially when you're have to drink water. I can say water is not very good at all to me I know everybody says it's good with the taste I got to have flavoring agents

Doesn't dissolve properly
I admittedly ordered these thinking they were just RC Cola, as I was looking for a cola flavored powder, that's my mistake, I'm not a huge fan of cherry cola but it's drinkable. The biggest issue is the stuff doesn't dissolve properly, it takes 20+ minutes for the last little bits to clear up, as has been mentioned by many other reviews. It seems to be some portion of the flavor as if you let it sit long enough to fully dissolve, it's a lot better than if you drink it straight away, though it's still not terribly good. I have some cherry 7-up ones from the story and I honestly would have difficulty telling them apart by taste alone, it's just "cherry with something else".
