It's better than A&W
It's simply better than A&W in taste, and for about 25% lower price. I had bought A&W for several yrs. , but decided to try this as it's an old name in sodas, and I'm happy I did. The beverage foams up like a root beer when you shake it up, tastes like the carbonated drink, but doesn't give you the gas of the carbonation. And it's about 25% lower cost than A&W. The aftertaste on some of these powdered drinks taste metally, but this Dads aftertaste is like a cross between root beer and cream soda. I like both so it's a winner. Where I used to buy A&W monthly I now have Dad's on subscription.

The Other Brand’s Powder Is Better
So, I tried this out with the expectation that I would like it better than what I was using before due to comments from numerous other people stating that this was the best. In truth, we all have our own taste buds, and I prefer A&W‘s powder instead of this one. This one is a bit strong in the licorice flavor and it doesn’t mix easily as well. Definitely drinkable, and definitely good, just not as good as what I had been drinking. Definitely a plus that they are portable, easy to use, have zero sugar, and are relatively good value. The negative is the strong licorice taste and that they don’t dissolve well.

DO NOT PURCHASE THESE!!! PLS LISTEN
Maybe you’re like me and you used to buy root beer concentrate and make your own homemade root beer, but the concentrate got discontinued. Maybe you’re also like me and came looking for an alternative. This AINT it. It’s so disgusting and doesn’t resemble root beer even slightly. The cream of soda is equally nasty. It was so horrid I didn’t even finish it and I rinsed my mouth out, but it wouldn’t dissipate until I brushed my teeth and tongue. I thought I’d drink these even if they didn’t taste good. I was going to doctor them up. I got not one but two of these big packs and it’s absolutely regrettable. I bought these in April 2024. I moved cross the USA to a new state in March and didn’t have time to process a refund. In my new city I tried the Dollar Tree store bc everything is so expensive here and I saw A & W root beer packets. They come in the same sized box and serving size. They taste good. They taste MAGNIFICENT. It’s mind blowing how different they taste from these. They actually taste like root beer. My mom only likes A & W root beer and I think (well, I thought) she’s picky and that root beer soda all pretty much taste the same. I know one thing is for sure, A & W cares way more about putting out a quality product. And this junk from Dads taste like chemically sweet arsenic butt juice. If you already bought this and you agree it taste gross, process a refund! And post a one start review. All you gotta say is “It does not taste good. I got a refund.” If you haven’t purchased it, DONT. And if you won’t listen, then pls at least don’t get this huge multipack! I read some of the negative reviews, but at the time I purchased the listing still had at least 4 stars and I was desperate, I wanted the positive reviews to be my experience, it obviously was not.

Absolutely delicious!
I have been looking for a sugar-free sarsaparilla/root beer option for ages with not much luck here in Australia. The taste of this is delicious, but on the sweeter end so I mix it with 1L of water - which makes it last even longer! It's even better when I carbonate my water with my SodaStream, but fine with plain water as well. Highly recommend, this has been my go-to for the last few months.

Best tasting rootbeer
This beats A & W singles, you wont find a better tasting rootbeer drink. Just add to soda water, and yeah you have some nice refreshing rootbeer. Makes way more rootbeer than buying the cans for the price!
