Challenging and fun project with incredible detail
I had a blast putting this together and it looks amazing when it's done. As others have noted, the pieces do not come in numbered bags, so you need to develop your own strategy for organizing and sorting through all the pieces to find what you need. The level of internal detail is staggering and quite delightful. I did find the area that included the front windows and the front part of the roof to be a bit weakly attached, so be careful around that area, and now that it's assembled, I really try not to touch it there.

Cool and Groovy Therapy In A Box.
I continue to be amazed by the amazing engineering that goes into turning small little brics into a 4 pound object de art. Incredibly detailed, fun, amazingly designed, super fun and funky. Did have one missing piece - a black 1 x 2 that goes on the front passenger door - but I scarfed one from my Millennium Falcon (next build) and just received replacements (free and quickly) from LEGO who are great about this stuff. Built over four sessions (give or take)...maybe 16 hours? Detailed engine. Folding table and bench seats. Kitchen/sink. Closet with mirror. Hippie art. Therapy in a box. Makes the cares of the world go away and finishing it...there's still something amazing about finishing your LEGO. Millennium Falcon is next...followed by the dreaded Tower Bridge and Sydney Opera House. I've pretty much got my next year plotted out. Thank you LEGO. Miracle in a box...and cheaper than going to the shrink.

Great LEGO you will not be disappointed!
When I got this from amazon I was really excited to start the build! But just so you know this is a 16 and up expert LEGO set so it might be a little hard especially for kids but it’s not to bad. The bags do not have numbers on them so that means you just dump all 13,000 pieces in one hull so that means it will be a little hard to find little pieces but I did deal with this before it’s kind of a pain but no big deal. All in all great LEGO great detail and would be a good gift! I also like that you can put lights in it! This is a great LEGO!

Groovy!
So much fun! I'm an adult LEGO collector and this is one of the most enjoyable sets I've experienced (second only to the original Arkham Asylum). So much detail and such intricate components to recreate a truly iconic vehicle of the era. The engine is just amazing. The roof vent with a fabric curtain, the closet with a reflecting mirror, the tiny shelves on the door, the lava lamp, and (my favorite part) the seat that collapses into a bed. The only downside is the fragility of the roof structure. If you're showing off your new structure to your friends, the roof could start shedding parts when you try to take it off, much to your chagrin. *ack* Also, as an aside, Hippie Lego minifigure pairs perfectly with this set. :)

Good gift!
I bought this lego as a gift for a young adult. He told me that he likes it so much and he might buy a real camper for himself. It’s so much fun to play with it. Good gift!

Great kit but definitely sort by color first!
When I was growing up, my brothers got all the fun building toys, while I got dolls and craft kits. So I bought this just for me as an older adult, and it's a blast! The instructions are very clear, except for sometimes making it difficult to distinguish between grey/beige or grey/black for needed parts. Unfortunately, all the parts come jumbled together in lots of small plastic bags. One thing you must do before starting is to take an hour to sort all the parts. I put the large pieces in a box, the tiny ones by color into muffin tins, and all the rest by color. Now assembly is just plain fun!

Nastalgic set...for display
Fun and (as mentioned) nostalgic set (at least for those of us who grew up back then). I would say a 'must have' for those collecting 'classic car' Lego sets. Great collection of features (see product description for them). Couple of issues I have: Some parts very finicky to assemble . Unlike most modern sets, the piece bags are NOT numbered and you pretty much have to open all of them to get to the pieces you need--they're not sequential. This really kind of ties in with the nostalgia of the set, since the bags weren't numbered back then either. While I don't like stickers, and there are only a few in this set, it's not clear (specifically regarding the window stickers) which sticker to apply, as the stickers aren't numbered (also, another 'modern convenience). In summary, it's a great set, but it's missing a lot of 'quality of life' features that most modern Lego sets come with (sequentially numbered piece bags).

Fun kit for a VW fan.
Bought this kit for my son who is a VW fanatic. He enjoyed putting it together and now diplays it on his desk. I bought the optional light kit and that was a nice addition.

Great display set
This is a really fun lego set with lots of detail - it makes for a great display model. This is one of the first sets in a while that I have assembled that did not have numbered bags so it took a bit longer than normal for me - a fun twist though. Only critique is that the front looks a little unfinished compared to the back. The back has beautifully designed curves while the front has pointy corners (partly due to the design of the door hinges). Would recommend for the Lego collector in your life.

Cooles Teil
