Not bad
These are pretty good wrist guards. They have a hard plastic strip that covers the underside of the wrist and curves into the palm of the hand. I took a few hard spills on some crusty icy snow today, and they definitely saved me some pain. They fit into my Dakine mittens without much trouble.A couple of issues I had with them: The thumb hole is really tight and pinches the skin between my thumb and index finger, which gets very uncomfortable after a while. Also the plastic piece that sits in your palm is too big. It protrudes and digs into my hand (I fixed this by carefully shaving off some of the excess plastic with a sharp knife). They seem to run a bit small. I ordered Medium size and I have small hands and wrists, but they're very tight on me.Overall it's a good wrist guard for the price and they'll protect you well, however you might want to look for something a bit more ergonomic for the long term.Mine were all black and did not have the Dakine logo as pictured but are otherwise identical to the picture.

Unsatisfied
After falling a couple times on my bicycle, I decided that I wanted some type of wrist support. I opted for snow-boarding wrists guards. At first, I was quite pleased but after a month or so off wearing them almost every day, I found the plastic covering for the metal support began to degrade and come away from the material for the guard. Basically, after about 6 weeks, I could see the metal support brace. Granted, I was using them in an non snow-boarding manner but I expected them to hold up better. Like snow-boarding, I was wearing gloves over top and the whole time I wore them, I didn't crash once to truly test them. I can only guess that they would be OK if you were wearing them snow-boarding on the weekend. Not really good for continuous use.

How many?
OK, I win an Idiot Honorable Mention. But never having shopped for these things, I assumed (since nowhere in the listed info could I find a number, or the word "pair") that I needed to order two of these, since we all have two wrists to guard. Now I have four...guards. They look fine, and in any case I have spares.

Uncomfortable
There is a long metal plate which is supposed to provide protection for your wrists which might be true. But it is pretty uncomfortable to wear. There is a long metal strip that bends at your wrists and can dig into your palms.

They Work - but not the best
I purchased these on the mountain for a little added support. I've been boarding for years, and caught a bad edge landing on my wrist- figured a little support wouldn't be bad.I purchased a pair of Large's. They work - super tight, but can't get my glove over them - so had to go gloveless on one hand. I do a lot of photography while boarding, either with my phone, camera or GoPro - and you can forget about it when wearing these. zero movement - which is kind of the point. But curious to find other brands to see how they respond.

Poorly manufactured
The first time I wore the wrist guards, the sewing around the metal guard tore apart. This occurred simply from wearing the guards, not actually falling on the guards. On both hands, no less. I have an older set of Dakine wrist guards that I have used snowboarding for 8 years without problem, so the poor quality of this pair was unexpected and very disappointing

Awesome and essential.
These wrist guards are comfortable, slender enough to go under a normal sized pair of gloves and protect your hand when you fall snowboarding. They may take some getting used to if you've never worn wrist guards before, but these are great quality. These will save your wrists whether you are a beginner or going pro. Stay safe.

VERY NICE QUALITY
The quality and fit of these wrist guards are outstanding. With a name brand such as Dakine you would expect nothing less. My son actually wears them!!!
