As an avid cyclist, I've had the opportunity to test various bike chains, but the KMC Bike Chain X9 has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on my riding experience. For cyclists who prefer to perform their maintenance, the KMC X9 is a dream. Its quick-link design facilitates hassle-free installation and removal, even on the go. Furthermore, the chain is notably easy to clean and lubricate, ensuring it maintains its performance over time. That said I do recommend having a good set of Link Pliers on hand to ease the removal. Its craftsmanship, durability, and compatibility with a wide range of bikes make it a versatile and practical choice for riders of all levels. I wholeheartedly recommend the KMC X9 chain to fellow cyclists who demand nothing but the best for their bikes.

Perfect replacement
Installed in a minute. Cut out two links and used the supplied master link to join the chain. Works perfectly.

Excellent chain.
Already have put a couple hundred miles on it and I’m very pleased. Had to remove 4 links to get it to the same size as my old chain, but that’s just what happens. The split link worked great. Shifting is more precise with the worn chain gone.

Good replacement for the normal person.
The chain is good, not problems, they want me to tell how smooth it is and its as smooth as it should be.

Be Sure it is long enough
I should have counted the links before ordering. Our Trek Verve2+ needs 120 links and this one has only 114. There is another version from KMC with 126 links that I should have ordered. I am not sure why they are listed separately when the order makes you choose no. Of links and there was only one option. The product is good, but count your links before ordering or just pay 75% more for the extra 12 links.

My favorite brand for bike chains
The only chain brand that I’ll buy. It is well built, functions as it should, shifts well and has a quick link. It is important to match the chain to the number of gears on the back or it will not work, rookie mistake.
