At twice the cost of the "regular" ink...does this "extra large" cartridge yeild double; or more prints?

You need to be careful when comparing how many pages you get per ink cartridge to HP's advertised amount. I have gotten a lot less than 450 and frequently more than 500. It all depends on the density of the printing on the page and on the amount pf graphics you have on the page. The more graphics and the denser the printing, the less pages per cartridge. What is typical for you may be more/less for me. I do get more pages of similar print density from the 63XL than from the 63. Enough more to make the 63XL worth it. My typical black print density yields more than a ream of paper per 63XL. But, thats me. It depends on the print density.
