GE LED Moon and Star Projector Night Light, Battery Operated Tap Light

Worth the buy. Turns off by itself. Not as bright as many other night lights so the purple light works great. Lightweight and easy to carry for travel. Really helps my baby sleep. Quite durable. Doesn't have parts baby can take apart so safe for my curious 2y.o

We researched star light projectors because we wanted to be sure whatever we bought actually looked like stars in the sky and automatically turned off after a time. These rate the highest we could find (well over $30 and $40 products), and for good reason. We bought two of them to ensure full coverage. They run on four AA batteries, they are light weight, can be set anywhere in the room (we put one on the floor and one in a stuffed animal net for optimal coverage), they are easy to turn off and on, even for very little ones, and they turn off on their own after 30 minutes! The best part though is the effect. The light blue color, the clarity of the shapes, and the area that is covered by each of these is awesome. Our 9 year old son's 11x13 foot room is covered, walls and ceiling, in stars and a crescent moon, and he LOVES it. We used a little piece of masking tape to cover the moon on one of the lights so there weren't two - works great. We are buying these for every kid we know. Highly recommended! :)

Five stars because it is exactly as advertised and perfectly suits my needs. It's for me (an 8-yr old with decades of practice). My criteria: Inexpensive; Long-lasting; Low profile; Soft/Low Light source; Not prone to tip-over or fall; Easy to turn on/off; Timer fail-safe to conserve energy/battery life; No photo-sensor/ auto on; Small footprint. Before settling on this GE 17457 LED Twinkle Star Tap Light, I had been searching for a light to use bedside that would provide just a bit of soft light in the dark of early morning hours before I rise and turn on the lights. As soon as I awake each day, I exercise each ankle while still in bed. It's much more enjoyable to spend those seven minutes with a little light than in complete darkness. This suits my needs perfectly, with a little whimsy to boot, for $5.31 and free shipping (with Amazon Prime). This little tap light is CUTE! I have it placed on a low, resin side table beside the bed (about six inches below my sleeping surface). When I tap it "on", the stars spread along the adjoining wall and bed, and the moon is projected onto the ceiling along with a nice smattering of stars. I do have to be mindful not to look directly at the dome while it's lit up, or the blue LED light inside (which is visible at various angles through the little holes in the domed top) can appear quite bright to the naked eye in the dark of early morning. Basic dimensions: 5.5" diameter, and 2" at highest point/center of domed top. It's made of very lightweight plastic, and remains quite light even after inserting four AA batteries (NOT INCLUDED with this tap light) to make it operational. It has little rubberized feet (one review said his did not) and is not inclined to slide around or tip over with intended use.

We love this simple star projection night light! It has held up for a few years now. We use it every night in our child's room and take it whenever we go on a long trip or for sleepover at a relative's house. It's easy to use (one-button operation), pretty durable, and bright with a broad field range (easily covers a 100 sq. ft. room). The only downsides are that it shuts off after a short time and you have to keep replacing the batteries (which still have lasted a long time in between replacements). I wish GE would make a rechargeable version of this night light. 😍

Perfect, simple night light with stars and moon on ceiling. Exactly what my daughter needed. Battery powered but it does auto shut off which is nice. Easily turned on and off by 3 year old for independence.

I've ordered three of these in the past three months. The first did not work at all and was returned and replaced. The second worked great. My 2 1/2 year old loves this as a second night light at bed time. I say second because it does go off after 30 min (which I like for battery saving) and we have a regular night light in his room that stays on all night. It takes 4 AA batteries, but they lasted 3 full months of every day for nap and every night use and sometimes in the play fort during the day, which I thought was pretty good. This was a five star product for sure. And then, it started blinking, sometimes it wouldn't work at all. I ended up ordering another one because it isn't that expensive and it had become part of the bedtime routine. When I had the replacement, I opened up the broken one and found it was just one of the wires had come un-soldered. I have a soldering gun, and it was as easy of a fix as can be if you know how to use one of these. This seems to happen to a lot of people, and I'm guessing that was what was wrong with our first DOA one so it seems like a manufacturing problem. Now we have two that work and we do love it but it was more work than it seems like it should be.

Fall asleep looking at the stars on your ceiling. Super zen and soothing to begin a good nites slerp for both the little ones and any age I have bought for my daughter then me and now gift them. I bought for my daughter as a child and she is now in college and it still works. Light weight, easy battery replacement, great shelf life. Majes a great gift but first buy one for yourself

Love thus Tap Lite!! This is my 3rd purchase over the years. I have one for my grandkids to use when they visit and one for me. I use mine nightly when I need to get up and it's bright enough to see the room yet not so light it wakes my husband. The stars and crescent moon illuminates the who ceiling. Easy to use and plenty of light to see.
