Solid harness for my big guy โ easy to control, great quality
This tactical harness fits my large dog perfectly. The no-pull design actually works โ I have way more control on walks now without choking him. He used to drag me down the street, but this harness redirects him gently and effectively. The adjustable straps made it easy to get a snug fit. He's right in the L range and it fits like it was made for him. The reflective strips are a nice safety touch for evening walks, and the military-style look is just cool. The material feels tough โ like it can handle rough terrain and active dogs. The handle on top is super useful for quick control or helping him over obstacles. It's also easy to put on and take off. If you have a strong, active dog, this harness is a great choice. Very happy with this purchase.

Love these vests
This is the forth Auroth harness we have bought. We purchased the first one 5 years ago when we brought home our rescue Rottie. We now have one of every size from small-xl. This harness gave us great control of our late Rottie and is still working great for our resident adolescent Bully and the foster dogs we have been working with. Great for strong pullers and escape artists. If it is fit to the dog correctly they canโt back out of it and the clips are strong enough to stand up to big dogs doing big dog things. We did try a different name brand harness from the pet store when we brought home our first foster. It rolled at the neck and she was able to back out of it. The aurath is definitely a better fit and better quality. Also love that we can add Velcro patches. I got a set of โAdopt meโ for our fosters so we can help find them forever homes.

My Dog loves it.
My dog and I love this harness. I tried to cancel this because I needed something right away and went to a pet store and bought one. My dog hated the one from the store. When we tried to put it on him he would run away. He not only doesn't run from the Auroth, he willingly puts his head through the hole and waits for me to clip it. He loves it. I took it off him yesterday. Thought it was bulky he might want a break from it, he took it off the couch and brought it to me to put on him. He legit loves it. Its hard to tell what a dog is thinking, but this seemed pretty clear. Looks good. Works well. Its easy to adjust, easy to put on and take off. Clips are plastic, but heavy duty. It also has velcro strip on it to put name or service dog signs on. Comes with Best Friend signs. Finally it has a clear pocket to put name and address.

It will be good in about 20 pounds - See Update for Medium
I carefully measured my dog and ordered accordingly. It's too big. Even with the straps at their shortest, it hangs on my odd shaped big girl. She'll get bigger and it will probably fit then. PROS: Seems well constructed. Looks good. The chest ring is higher on the chest which is good for preventing lunging without tripping the pup (that's what happened with our last harness. The ring was a few inches lower and she ended up rolling instead of turning). CONS: I don't think it runs true to size. If you're on the border of sizes, get the smaller one. The rings are plastic. This concerns me. Baby is 65 pounds, I expect her to go to 75 or 80. I'm a bit concerned the rings will break. UPDATE: I returned the large because she could easily back out of it. I ordered the medium and had a few surprises: * The plastic rings are metal on the medium. * The medium is a LOT SMALLER than the large. It's about half the body length of large. Typically, my girl loves her harness, eager to get into in the morning. This one fits but she doesn't like it, I think because her back isn't covered, just her shoulders. It still works (the chest ring is too low on this one), she just doesn't like it as much. I have a weird dog, probably won't be true for yours. * I don't know if my puppy is at a weird size. She's 65-70 pounds, 9 months old and beautiful. The large is too large, the medium is going to quickly be too small. In another 5 pounds I'll need to get the large again, but even then... sizing. It's nice if there is a several inches of overlap between sizes. The smallest on the large was still too big and now the largest on the medium is just right but won't be for much longer. The travails of having a large dog for the first time. Lots of adjustments from our past little fellows. We went big because that was all that was available during Covid craziness. My overall takeaway is that this is a good product and probably great for adult dogs. She won't be sleek for much longer (adults widen). (I recently found her first harness, when she was 14 pounds. It looks like a postage stamp now). I'd never thought about how hard it is to create wearable products for dogs and their vastly different morphology. The medium would probably have been perfect for my last dog, may he rest in peace. If you're on the fence and you have a stable-size adult dog, this is a great harness. If you have a puppy, eh, if the cost (which is very good) isn't too bad, go for it, You may end up needing several, though. Another note: There were no problems returning the large; the medium was a reorder and came quick. This company seems solid and cares about dogs and customers.

Gorgeous, Easy to Slip on Harness
The Tactical Dog Harness by Auroth is absolutely fantastic for impatient/easily excitable dogs who pull. It is definitely true to size; The large fits snug, but not strangling, around my dog's (~35") ribs at its loosest setting. If your pup's neck and rib measurements fall between two different sizes, I would recommend going with the size matching their rib measurement. The front (atleast on my boy) sits farther back and just before his shoulders, as opposed to higher up on the neckline where a collar would sit. The harness itself is pretty lightweight for its structure. The chest and back pieces are padded for comfort, and seem to be sturdy and well-constructed. There are metal leash attachments on the chest and back, and I like having the option to choose where to put the leash depending on my boy's behavior that day. It has a reflective outline on the chest and back pieces, as well as reflective thread stitched into the straps for extra visibility during evening walks. Overall, this harness is simple and easy to slip on. My boy tends to be a bit impatient when getting ready for his walks, and the whole ordeal goes much faster with this easy-to-maneuver harness. The buckles seem sturdy, and they easily snap into place. I like that it comes with spaces to attach velcro patches on the back, which you can use to display "Service Dog" or "Do not pet" patches should it be necessary. The harness comes with two adorable "Best Friend" patches, but I opted to use a different set. It also has a small contact info card, which slips into a clear pocket on the back piece. I truly believe the shape of the harness plays a significant role in how much you'll feel your dog pull, and I don't have any complaints so far; My Apollo doesn't simply pull forward or jump upward, he lunges/flies toward whatever captures his interest. The tugging has definitely improved since making the switch to this harness. If you happen to have an easily excitable dog who pulls like no tomorrow, attaching the leash to their chest should remedy the situation a bit! I highly recommend this harness to anyone; especially if you have a large, impatient/easily excitable dog who tends to walk you. It's such a well-designed, dashing harness, and I'm so happy I chose this one. **I've included a picture taken with flash of the harness in a dark room to hopefully show how reflective it is, although I'm not sure if it translated well.

Best purchase for my big dogs
Itโs very rare that I write a review on anything unless my feelings are very strong about my satisfaction, whether good or bad. I have two large dogs: a Siberian Husky and a Lab. My Husky, especially, is a runner. She pulls hard and weaves in and out during walks. At first, we used a standard leash attached to her collar, but walks were a nightmare, and I worried about damage to her trachea. I first bought this harness months ago for my Lab. Sadly, I gave up on my Husky, and since we have a fenced yard, she got her exercise there. Soon after I bought the harness, my Lab tore his CCL in both legs. He had surgery on both and has been rehabing since, so walks were limited to potty breaks. Eventually, I got the chance to use the harness on him, and it was like night and day. He's still recovering, so walks are slow. Sometimes my husband walks the Husky, and I asked him to try the harness on her. Again, night and day. She still pulls, but not as much. Most importantly, we arenโt choking her with a standard collar and leash. When my Lab got clearance from the vet for longer walks, I decided to walk both of them together with a tandem leash attached to both harnesses. All I can say is, we have complete harmony. After 11 years of trying to walk my Husky (or her walking us), I finally enjoy walking both of them. They are easy to put on and take off, and the fit is adjustable. I have no complaintsโexcept I wish I had bought these earlier.

Quality stylish harness at a great price!
Five stars. I'd give it six if I could. Look, I've bought cheap harnesses before. Buckles popping open. Straps ripping. My dog sliding out like a greased pig. This one? Not even close. Penny's had it almost a year. Every single day. Full tilt after squirrels and not one buckle failed. Not one strap stretched. Not one stitch gave up. She loves he harness too. The second I pull it she knows its outside time or time to go to the dog park and her tail moves a mile a minute and she prances around! It doesn't rub, chafe, or make her sweat. The padding's thick. The straps breathe. And once I buckle it in they stay right where I put them. No constant readjusting every five seconds. The handle on top? Godsend. Lets me grab her easy if she's about to bolt, or give me a sturdy spot to grab to help her jump into the truck without yanking her collar. I love it has reflective strips so people see her coming from down the street at night. The velcro patches on top come off so you can swap 'em out if you buy different patches online. Purple camo looks sharp too. People ask me all the time where I got it. I just point 'em to Amazon. Got the best dressed dog in the neighborhood. LOL Only thing. Don't let your dog chew the buckles or straps. They're solid. But teeth win every time. I learned the hard way that it only takes a little nibble to weaken a corded leash or a buckle and suddenly you have adog running in circles with the zoomies off of her leash! Keep it up so your dog cant chew it and this thing lasts a long time. It cleans up easy too. I definitely have recommend it to all my friends and family and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Avoid for active/strong dogs
Initially this was a great harness. Comfortable and well fitting. After a month, it started fraying and pulling apart. It loosens quite often so I needed to tighten it daily which wasnโt hard so no biggie. However, my dog was able to wiggle out and chewed a clip rendering it useless. Might be better for a smaller and/or less active pup.

Excellent Construction
Appears durable and comfortable for my dog (14kg Maltese). Easy strap adjustment that maintains settings. I recommend including instructions on installing the elastic bungee tie. I wasn't sure the best way to weave through the webbing.

Good Harness
The harness is brilliant, however the adjustment points on it are really difficult to tighten.
