A Great Library Ladder, Worth Every Penny...
Re-did my mom's office and library - welcome to oak city - and decided she needed a library ladder. Space is limited so the ability to fold flat was an issue. Also, since my mom is in her 80's, a stable platform with a stabilizing handle was an absolute. (She's a Dr. BTW, so don't assume that she's a brainless old fart. But she is unsteady at times. Wish it wasn't true, but.... So....) This more than meets those needs. Handsome dark wood finish matches the dark oak woods of the library. Easy to drag around. Easy to fold once you get the hang of it. Folds flat against the wall when not needed. Handsome and functional design. And it's STABLE. Her reaction: At first she hated it, and now she loves it. Downside: tad heavy, but then it's solid wood. Bottom line: Built to last, and if you buy it you won't be disappointed.

Very good quality and beautiful!
This is a beautiful step stool/ladder. It is a bit heavy but not so crazy that I can't or even mind lifting it. It's solid mahogany wood, so I expected it to be sturdy and heavy. As previous reviews have mentioned, there are a lot of stickers on the back/underside of the ladder. They're easy to remove though with a bit of Goo Gone if needed. But they can't be seen while the ladder is in use nor if folded and placed up against a wall like mine is. It's so nice too that you can leave it out in the open and it looks decorative. I've had friends come over and say, "oooh, what's that"?!? They're surprised when I say it's a simple step stool to reach the upper cabinets in my kitchen! :) The only thing I'd recommend is to stick some rubber grip pads under the bottoms of the legs if you're using it on slick hardwood floors, because the legs spread out a bit and could move a little when you're standing on it, which can be a little scary b/c it feels like it could be a little unstable. Other than that I recommend it.

Beautiful, sturdy, great $, but need floor pads on bottom
Beautiful, sturdy (albeit slightly heavy because it's sturdy), well made and folds flat as described, but 1 less star for the bottom of the legs are serrated rows of the wood legs themselves and if you were to use on wood floor, you'd have to *add some sort of wood floor protection* yourself. Also, like other review, the mechanism to fold is tight, but I personally like that for safety (won't accidentally get pushed in & close unexpectedly). Note the dimensions they give, they are correct, before you buy (I think the 2 step actually will work better for me in our kitchen as little wall space, but I need to use quite often). However, for the price (1/2 of a similar one I was looking at) - it's VERY, VERY good & getting pads for couple $ is only slight inconvenience. ** If they were to add a rubber base to the bottom with similar tread of sorts, it would be 5 stars. Also, I realized I bought this large 3 step, which I should've paid more attention to dimensions, it is very tall, so if you are 5' or under is great for top shelves, but you need wall space near by to put this ladder

Reaches higher than I expected; Husband leaves this one alone
We have tall cabinets and I got tired of having to hunt down my step stool (is it in my husband's shop? Nope, not there. How about the garage? No, but I finally found my hammer! Oh, there's that step stool ... it's on the back porch being used to prop open a door). I figured my husband needed the step stool more than me (plus, it began to accumulate all the spills, drips, splatters and scratches from his many uses). But this! Wow, I just can't say enough about it. It's very strong, and very sturdy. It's also a lot heavier than I expected, but it needs to be to maintain the sturdiness. I'm not very fond of the unlocking lever to fold the ladder. It's a little hard to pull it to release the lock, but once I got used to it it's no bother. On days when my hands hurt too much, I leave it open in the corner, and take care that my husband doesn't mistake it for a tool shelf. Seriously, it's a very attractive, sturdy and useful stool/ladder and reaches much higher than I expected. If you can be ok with the weight and the unlock lever, you'll be very happy with the product.

Beautiful, sturdy, compact, easy to use. Buy it.
I don't want to rant or rave about a step ladder... But this is a really good step ladder. 1: Its very strong, I weigh about 200lbs and I don't feel it wobble under me at all when I use it. 2: Its very compact, I actually keep it in the small space between my fridge and my cabinets and I use it to reach the top shelves of my cabinets. 3: Its looks great, so I don't mind storing it in the kitchen as opposed to in the utility closet. Its really easy to fold up, just push in the tab at the top step (see picture) and you'll be able to collapse it. The finish on it is actually pretty resilient, which is very surprising. So its not going to look like garbage if it gets dinged a little bit. The feet are grooved, so it will dig into whatever its sitting on pretty good. If you're using it on wood, laminate, or tile floor I would probably put furniture protection pads on it http://amzn.to/2a47bGx 6 Month Edit: This thing has held up really well to repeated use. Still sturdy as a rock and still looks great.

Love this beautiful ladder. Very sturdy. Lots of stickers.
The Rockford Wood Step Ladder is a beautiful ladder. Really gorgeous. I wanted a step ladder that I could prop up against a bare wall in my kitchen and it would add both utility and decoration. I bought three ladders trying to find the perfect ladder for this space. This one is definitely a winner on the decorative level. It has a beautiful cherry wood finish. Utility wise, it's plenty sturdy, which is great. However, it's kind of heavy. Goes with the territory. My only complaint is what another reviewer pointed out. THE STICKERS! The back is covered in warning stickers in three languages. I appreciate that ladders can be dangerous. Falling is the number one way people are injured in the home. But, it took me a good while to banish the stickers. If you buy it, I recommend soaking the stickers in Goo Gone, then letting them sit for about an hour. They'll easily peel off after that. I learned that lesson the hard way.

This is perfect in my closet
This is perfect in my closet. I have a lovely big closet with very high shelves. This ladder keeps the look and allows me quick and easy access to the top shelves. I am very surprised that it does not come with rubber feet. My closet is wood flooring and I don't want it scratched up. I immediately bought some of the felt pads that you can cut to any shape. I traced the feet and adhered one to each and it is working beautifully. It also allows me to slide the ladder around in the closet with no worry of scratching the floor. To my great surprise and happiness the ladder was fully ready to go right out of the box. I had expected to receive a box of parts and a sheet of instructions and I was dreading the usual routine of trying to put something together. Very well made, very functional item and a great price when you compare it to the other similar items available.

Beautiful but scratched
Like other reviews this is a heavy, but for my purpose it is perfect. It is only being used in my library to reach taller shelves, it would not be easy to move this around a home for general use. Extremely sturdy, and well built. My problem is the packaging, it arrived with scratches and dings, the box was perfect, but how it is packaged inside it will never come out of the box good. It moves arounds in the box and during shipping this movement will mar the finish, seeing this I did not bother to ask for a return knowing that the next one would be in the same shape. But sine I feel this is the perfect step ladder for my use and I do love the look I decided to keep this. The only other item that might discourage your purchase it the amount of "safety stickers" place everywhere. This took me over two hours to remove they where on every step, adhered with very good glue difficult to remove, but again this was the look I wanted so to me it was worth the time to remove.
