Product description 24/7 Parking Surveillance Directly to the battery for constant 24hrs/7days power to protect against theft when your car is in the parking lot. Directly to the ignition wire for power only so it can turn on and off with the ignition. Compatible 12 – 24V Vehicles This hardwire kit accepts voltage from any type of vehicles runs on 12 – 24V, works perfect for car, truck, bus, suvs, or big rig for continuous power. Low Voltage Protection Smart low voltage protection automatically shut off the power to your dash cam when the battery voltage drops to 11.6V(12V cars) or 23.2V(24V cars), thus preventing it draining the battery. Find the Correct Fuse Slot Open the fuse box, find the correct fuse slot for your hardwire kit. If you need to find an ignition switched fuse, put the key in the vehicle, find the fuse which is not lit up while the car is off, and test it by turning the car on to see if it lights up. Review: Good Hardwire Kit - The Hardwired Kit has been running for a few weeks now and its not drained the battery yet with the vantrues parking mode set to on. I originally wanted the one that connects into the OBD slot where the computers are hooked up to scan the car when the engine lights come on, but I'm sort of glad I got this one as its not going to block the OBD port. Seems to be a working & legit switch thus far.. I've heard and seen bad reviews, but I've not personally had any issues yet. I used the fuse that controls my seat as it is live & hot 24/7 and it seems to be killing the cam before the car battery dies out to cause any start-up issues. The kit was actually pretty easy to install and run (I did have and use the trim tools for easy prying and hiding) with plenty of cord to spare, in my little Hyundai coupe. I think you'd like it and I don't see anyone having issues with it, giving its the same quality and stock as what I received. Pros: The Kit does come with several sizes of fuse adapters for all makes and models. The Kit has easy covers to keep the wires safe for when you tether the adapter to the main accessory. The Kit had plenty of cord and should even leave some over for larger sedans/suvs/trucks. The Kit seems to be working and has not caused battery drainage on my car. [i.e. I have not got in my car with it having a dead battery. car starts normally & battery stays charged] Cons: The Kit has no fuse tool.. I've never seen a kit that contains fuse adapters that have no fuse tool. It'd be nice to see future kits that contain the fuse tool! haha. (personal opinion only) The Kits adhesive strips are a bit cruddy, but 3M isn't expensive for a few strips/clips... The Kits Fuse Adapter is stiff.. The empty slot on the adapter piece where u place your fuse is way too tight & I had issues with getting a fuse out once it was put in. Overall: Its a good Kit and Well Worth the Buy for a 24/7 power supply for your Vantrue N4.. ** I do use parking mode with motion and collision detection activated

**Q: Within a day of having my Vantrue set to motion parking mode it has fully drained my battery to the point that my lights can’t even turn on. Thoughts?**
A: In my experience - there's no problem with car battery, as long as the engine is started for a few minutes once a day. Otherwise - bad news. Cutoff at 11.6V is unacceptable - battery's dead by then. So after having 2 Vantrue N4's in my two cars, and two hardwire kits - I have to replace one of the kits with generic kit that has 4 voltage cutoff settings, b/c only one out of two cars is driven regularly. Really wish Vantrue would ramp up their game on their kit... Even though generic kit I got is doing its job, and is cutting dashcam off at 12.2V as set, it confuses the camera, and now and then camera can't use SD-card anymore and demands re-formatting...

**Q: Can anyone tell me the wire length. (Both sides of the control box)? Thx...**
A: Not measured accurately, it should be at lease 1.5m.

**Q: The description promotes theft protection w/ the 24 hour park feature. How is that possible when all footage is local stored?  s**
A: You are absolutely correct! That protection is only valid if the thief/cop doesn’t take the unit! I have asked Vantrue if they had plans to develop a model with Wi-fi that could transmit to your phone. I was told they were working on it. Thinking of it now though, it also would need to have cloud storage as well. With that said, the unit still records all incidents where the unit remains intact in the vehicle 24/7. I have looked at the very few offerings out there that do have wi-fi capability, but other that that one feature, they ALL appear to fall short of this unit in ALL other categories in my opinion, which is why I went with this unit. I’m VERY pleased with it!

**Q: What fuse to put on tacoma**
A: It comes with a fuse for the camera so install it in a fuse position that is low priority. Something like a aux, cigarette lighter etc. If you drive your car a lot every day then you can use it in a spot that always has power so you can monitor  when parked. I did so for a while but I don't drive a lot and my battery was getting drained to low.
