The Joy of Botanical Drawing: A Step-by-Step Guide to Drawing and Painting Flowers, Leaves, Fruit, and More

I absolutely love this book! I have just started drawing and have bought a few other botanical instruction books, but this was by far the best. It is full of detailed instructions that are incredibly clear and take you right from the basics of drawing to more complex skills. I love the way it is designed - with the initial chapters giving core skills, and then the later chapters being ones that can be dipped in and out of. The drawings themselves are wonderful, and are so inspiring! The book is so well put together and is itself a lovely work of art!

A very detailed and useful book.

Enjoying this book and trying out my Fabre Castell pencils. This author is very talented, beautiful paintings - recommend you look at her website or some of her tutorials on you tube.

Lovely illustrations, provides info on equipment, light source and basic drawing techniques. perspective, tones and highlights used in botanical drawings as well as drawing and painting leaves,fruit,flowers etc where you can dip in and out of. Really makes you look carefully at the structure.

Good book

This book is outstanding, full of beautiful illustrations, step by step drawing exercises, helping you absorb the skills and develop the confidence to draw. Observing natures quiet beauty, form and colour.

I really liked the details which helped to develop techniques and the use of different media. Beautifully illustrated. Inspirational and I would strongly recommend it.

Good book just to get you started with line drawing. It's not complex and anybody can do botanical line pieces after finishing this.

magnifique, je ne regrette pas très beau, en plus d'un livre de dessin, la qualité du papier, et les dessins font un livre a part entière. j'aimerai bien d'autre d'aussi grande qualité. c'est rare. je recommande. vous ne serez pas déçu.

Ejercicios explicados paso a paso, empezando por las nociones más básicas, con detalladas ilustraciones. Es especialmente aconsejable si usas los lápices de colores y acuarelables de Faber Castell, que son los que la autora utiliza y recomienda, ya que resultan idóneos para su técnica, consistente en superponer capas de Albrecht Dürer y Polychromos, que combinan maravillosamente. Yo lo he probado y me encanta el resultado. El dibujo es un original mío realizado del natural con las técnicas aprendidas en este libro.
