Norpro Nonstick Egg/Pancake Rings, 4 Piece Set

I love this for making fried eggs on a cast iron griddle. I do not use with the handle and use tongs to remove each ring as needed. I use with non-stick spray and have no problems with sticking. I pre-heat the griddle and have very minimal amount run out of the bottom of the ring. My main reason for this purchase was due to the white running on the griddle and becoming thin and difficult to flip the egg. This has solved the problem completely! I have not tried for pancakes, but the size of the pancakes would be very small if you go that route.

Not long ago, my 5 year old granddaughter was visiting, and I made her an breakfast egg sandwich. She told me, "Grandma, the egg isn't round like I get at school." After looking at every store I could think of to purchase egg rings, and not being able to find them, I turned to Amazon.com. After looking at the numerous sets they have, and reading the reviews of all of them, I decided to purchase this set. And let me tell you, they are great. Like a lot of the reviews stated, I did spray a little non-stick spray in them. And to avoid leakage of the egg white under the ring, I did put the ring into the frying pan and heated it for about 30 seconds. And guess what?? I now have perfectly round fried eggs for my breakfast sandwiches. They fit perfectly on a muffin....just the right size. And they clean up easily, too. I must say, I have never tried the handle due to the fact that I never make more than 3 fried eggs at a time. But I have had no problem removing the ring using a pair of tongs. I am VERY happy with this product, and have recommended it to many people. I was very anxious for the next time my granddaughter came, so that I could make her a breakfast sandwich. And, needless to say, she was very surprised and happy. Just let me tell you, you can't go wrong with this set.

I really love this item but could not give it 5 stars as the handle melted. I mean its plastic on metal that is intended to get hot. The handle should be metal with a cool to the touch sheathing so you can handle it without getting burnt. The first time i used this to make two pancakes for my little one, it was great. the second time i used it on the griddle to make about 6 pancakes on our stove top griddle and noticed the plastic handle was really hot to the touch, making it uncomfortable to handle. Other than that the rings work as intended. i love that you have the option to use just 1, 2 or all 4 rings. our griddle holds 2 rings nicely with the handle, 3 without (since the other half of the griddle has grooves for bacon making and grilling). but now that the handle has melted my hubby is looking for a way to make it easy for me to remove the rings while cooking.

I bought this thinking that it was one piece ..but no it's six pieces..they don't even snap into place so that they are fixed tight..you assemble them by slotting the rings into this piece which comes apart really easily...the rings are held loosely and I mean loosely together by this center piece that you put the rings into and a plastic handle that loosely fits onto that center piece..very hard to describe. I didn't like the fact that it was so loose but I decided to give it a try so I put in the eggs and then when I tried to pull off the rings with the handle to turn the eggs over and as I was lifting it off the griddle the handle broke apart from the center piece and dropped the eggs down spilling part of the eggs on me and the rings came apart from the center piece and everything fell onto the griddle. It was a mess. These are not good rings for eggs or anything else. I grew up in the restaurant business where I used good rings on the griddle and never had any trouble like this one. This one is just cheap junk...and now it is trash because I threw it in the garbage along with the eggs.

I've wanted an "egg ring" forever so I can cook a perfectly round egg for sandwiches, etc. This particular product doesn't stay together. When you lift it up when egg has formed, it falls apart and lands on the egg (even breaks the yolk when you didn't want the yolk broke). The egg also runs under the ring, therefore, making the egg not so round. Maybe pancake batter would work better but that's not what I wanted it for. It definitely should hook together better and NOT fall apart when lifting it up. I can handle a little bit of the egg running out from under the ring (I found that if you have the oil and pan pre-heated pretty hot, the egg doesn't run under as much, if any - then of course turn your heat down) Non-stick works great but definitely needs to stay together and not fall apart when you lift it up.

Contrary to some reviews complaining about quality, I am very happy with these rings. We bought them to keep our cookies to a preset size and these rings work great. They are non-stick which allows the ring to be lifted off the cookies with ease with no Pam or other nonstick sprays. If you want this set for the little handles and linking ability....DON"T !!...We threw out the handle and link device. But the quality of the ring itself is worth every penny We are so happy that we just bought another 2 sets of 4 giving us 16 total rings. Without rings we can normally get 6 cookies on a sheet...with these rings we can get 8 cookies on a sheet which translates into less cooking time overall. SIDE NOTE: The ring makes the cookie dough cook a lil faster....so turn down the heat a notch or cook for 1 minute less.

I bought this to keep my eggs from running together in the pan. It works perfect. A little butter and they are great. Once the eggs are set you can pull of the rings and you have 4 perfect fried eggs. Same for pancakes just spray with non stick coating.
