At first I thought it wouldn't work very well because the contact points did not match up directly but once it was installed they matched up very good product works very well I highly recommend this

Haven't fired it up, but installed this kit on my 1957 Evinrude Fastwin 18HP, and everything matched existing parts, though we suspect the coils were replaced, so maybe the points too? Anyway, quality seems good, nothing out of appearing spec. Be very careful with the two kinds of small clips shipped (as you must assemble the pcs, kit does not ship assembled), because they can sproing a good distance if you're not rather careful. Oh, and you'll need to use the existing screws if possible or get new, bracket screws do not come included in kit (worked fine for me). Edit: my engine ran great once I got it to the lake

Was not an identical replacement for my application
The product was similar but not identical for my application, I wouldn't think close is good enough for this application. This product determines the exact ignition/spark time for the engine power stroke, it must be precise, the small differences will throw out the timing sequence. I reused the old parts rather than chance adverse consequences with this product.
