We learn as we throw.
Edited..... Forth time ordering this disc. It is definately worth the money. Great to throw and great for him to catch. I've added just one photo because I think it says it best. WE LEARN AS WE THROW I have just placed my forth order for the Hyperflight Jawz Ultra tough. Since this is my forth review of the Hyperflight Jawz Ultra, I want to share some of the things that Max and I have learned. To those of you who are veterans of the sport, the Hyperflight Jaws Ultra Tough is my disk of choice. It flys very nicely and has withstood the Max test. I'll continue to buy them until I find something better and as affordable. No disc that flys as well and holds up to a big dogs punishing chew, and is as affordable as the Hyperflight has been in Max's mouth yet. IF YOU ARE RELATIVELY NEW to the sport, or just curious then let me share my views with you. NO DISK LASTS FOREVER under the kind of punishment a big dog can give it, unless it is made of steel, thereby rendering it useless as far as flying and dangerous for the poor dog to catch. IF YOU ARE LIKE ME then you are serious about safety and performance. Safe for your dog, durable and good flying, and affordable is the goal. SAFETY FIRST. Inspect your disk before throwing. Look for any kind of cracks or missing pieces of the disk. Look for any kind of puncture or edge that might poke or cut your dog's mouth. A set of nail clippers and some 180 grit sand paper is great for cleaning up any kind of small burr or dangerous jagged edge. Clean any sanding particles off before throwing to your best buddy🐶. INSPECT THE DISK FOR DAMAGE THEN WASH, THEN RINSE THROUGHLY AFTER EVERY OUTTING. ALWAYS WATCH YOUR DOGS MOUTH FOR ANY BLOOD THAT MIGHT APPEAR. STOP THROWING UNTIL THE BLEEDING HAS STOPPED AND THE CAUSE FOUND. IF THE CAUSE IS FOUND TO BE THE DISK, FIX IT OR DISCARD IT. WIDE OPEN SPACES. Your dog will be running full speed and if he bumps into a house or tree or anything stationary, he might sustain serious injury. WHAT? YOU CANT THROW VERY WELL? Stop worrying about how good you throw. Your dog is going to love you for even crummy throws. Guess what? If you and he are new to this, then he probably can't catch so good. The more you and he practice the better you'll become. Google "how to throw a frisbee" if you have no idea. REMEMBER; A good short catchable throw is way better than a long bomb that he can't catch. 25 to 30 paces is plenty good. If your dog can't catch up to it and get under it, then you probably need to shorten the distance. MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW YOU THROW IS HOW YOU PRAISE YOUR DOG FOR EVERY EFFORT HE MAKES TO RETRIVE THE DISK. WHETHER HE CATCHES IT IN MID AIR OR PICKS IT UP FROM THE GROUND, PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE AND THROW IN A HUG! Give lots of dog treats and always have a collapsible bowl and water for him. NO WHEN TO REST HIM. After throwing for awhile, watch his breathing/panting. Recognize the difference between out of breath and panting. If he lays down, don't throw. He is probably tired and needs to rest. If he drops the disk and looks around, he is probably tired. IMPORTANT... sit down next to him, or, you sit first and invite him to rest. He might continue to fuss the first couple of times but he will start to understand that if you're sitting, he too can sit. Getting him OUT of that anxious state of alert and ready to chase the frisbee will help him to rest and recover sooner. MORE THAN ONE FRISBEE!! ... You will need more than one frisbee. Getting him to give up the frisbee after retrieving it is hard. Be ready to throw another frisbee as soon as he drops one. Whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes, don't throw until he drops the one in his mouth. You can offer a ball, a stick, a treat whatever it takes to get him to drop the frisbee. He cannot catch with something in his mouth. RELEASE or DROP.... a single word command is best. GOOD BOY! when he capitulates. Always praise praise praise. I have added one photo of Max in his little pool. He overheats quickly and this is a cheap but very effective way of cooling him off and he loves it. Regular practice (several times a week) will soon begin to show signs of progress. Then, one day your dog will chase the disk and leap into the air and catch it, and trot proudly back to you...Good luck!

Excellent, goes far, perfect balance of weight and dog safety. Great for my Doberman.
Have been using these for Since 11/25 with my Doberman. They are great, have enough weight and rigid enough to fly a long distance yet not overly hard or heavy. Great balance. They have an interesting feel, very smooth. Holding up quite well, a regular Frisbee would have holes by now and sharp edges. Quite impressed, worth the price for the endurance and keeping shreds of plastic and sharp edges out of my dog's mouth. We use these only to fetch, they do not lie around the house as a chew toy. Outside we have had a few tugging sessions and no damage. Excellent purchase.

Awesome Dog Disc, Just Didn't Glow For Me
Let me begin by saying- this is an awesome dog disc. I negated a star for a reason- it doesn't glow-in-the-dark (and I will get to that later), The most important trait is the durability. I have an Australian cattle dog who loves to play Frisbee with his daddy here. I've tried all sorts of dog discs and NONE of them has ever held up to the durability and flight accuracy as this disc. I've spent a fortune on different dog discs- some lasting a mere few minutes to being nothing but a dangerous chew toy to not maintaining proper flight, etc. This is the ONE disc that I wish I had discovered a long time ago. Oh, how much money I could have saved! Hence the high cost of the Frisbee. I understand it is pricier than most dog discs, however, when you consider this should be the only disc you will need and how long it will last you, then the price is warranted. As they say, you get what you pay for. I've had this current disc for several months now and it is getting worn from use around the edges. I will be in need of a new one soon- and that is only because of the high number of use and age of the disc. It has lasted longer than any of the other dog discs I've ever purchased. Now, for the glow-in-the-dark feature: Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed with it. I work the late shift and when I get home, I like to take my dog to the nearest park and throw the Frisbee in the dark. However, the glow-in-the-dark feature only worked once. Not exactly sure why that is. It's not that important though, because my dog has absolutely no issues finding the Frisbee in the dark. But I really wanted the glow-in-the-dark feature to work because, quite frankly, it would be a cool effect for playing at night such as we do. Hyperflite Jawz Disc will be the only dog disc I ever purchase from here on out. I just won't bother with the glow-in-the-dark one.

Best for your dog
I have a dog that lives to play frisbee. Of all the brands I’ve tried, this is by far the most durable. My dog can kill a whamo in minutes. The Hyperflite flies better and withstands chewing way better than Wham-O’s. If you have a frisbee dog that wants to kill the frisbee, this the one to get.

Super strong frisbee
Awesome frisbee, my dogs who can destroy any ball or frisbee have been unable to puncture it. We have a Rottweiler and a catahoula who can destroy a normal frisbee in minutes have been playing with this daily and it’s still in great condition (slobbery but not broken or punctured in any way).

This is my third one - all still going strong!
I was NOT paid for this review, and I know how valuable an honest review is when deciding on a product you are not very familiar with. I don't want to waste my money either, so be assured this was not solicited. This works really well for my dogs, and I highly recommend it. We have 2 dogs, a lab and a sheepdog. The sheepdog LIVES to chase a frisbee. She is hard on every toy we have, so I have to be very "picky" when I purchase a product for her. She is still a puppy and likes to chew. I mean CHEW on everything for hours. I do not leave this lying around the house for her to "snack" on like a toy. It is her special outside toy, and she knows it. It is the first thing she finds when we step outside. This frisbee is awesome - it flies farther than any other frisbee I have ever had, and she loves that because she can get good distance, exercise, speed, and jumping height with it. It is a little harder plastic, but to fly like it does, it has to be. It is not hard on her mouth though - but I am not jerking it out of her mouth either when she brings it back - if you do that, anything will hurt your dog's mouth and make them bleed. We have a red one, the glow in the dark one, and a blue one, and I am purchasing the lemon lime one next. Yes, she is spoiled. But the award and joy you get when you know your dog is loving a toy and the fun you are having with them is priceless. We keep one in each of the cars for those spontaneous moments on the road. All 3 that we have now are going strong - a few scratches from use, but no punctures, no cuts, no holes, no rips, no major damage a year into it. Well worth your money and your dog (and you) will love it.

All the characteristics of a "human" Frisbee
This is essentially just a standard human Frisbee with no meaningful dog-specific design. It’s not softer, and it’s no easier for a dog to pick up off the ground than a typical human disc. The flight characteristics also lean toward fast, straight throws, which makes controlled, slower glides—generally easier for most dogs to track and catch—much harder to achieve. The only real upside is durability: the hard plastic should last longer than softer, dog-focused alternatives and is easier to clean. That said, those benefits come at the cost of usability for actual play. I would have returned it, but my German Shepherd has already put significant bite marks in it. If you are looking for a human-style Frisbee and are ok with the above description regarding flights characteristics and hardness, then you should feel fine buying this. If you don't compete and just want to play with your dog, this isn't a particularly good choice.

Indestructible for my dog! Money well spent
I spent the money on this (as it turns out I could have ordered it cheaper through a local disc club) and it was worth every penny! Shop around to see if you can get it cheaper through a supplier near you. I bought a cheaper disc (superhero I think) from my local disc club for around $10 and he had destroyed it within a day. This is well worth the money if you have a dog like mine, because I have had this for a few months and he has put only one tiny tooth mark into it, and we use it every day. It flies really well too, although it is heavier material so I think other discs that are not as bite proof as this one would fly better. Can definitely use this one for training and competitions, he tugs on it as well and no damage from tugging. He is also not allowed to chew on his discs, but he sometimes scrapes the top with his teeth when trying to pick it up and he has folded this like a taco a few times and still no damage. Amazing product!
