Worked for Dacor DMW2420S
Fixed 6 yr old DMW2420S Dacor Distinctive model that was tripping the circuit breaker and blowing the 20A fuse. Narrowed down the problem to opening the door and finally to one of the 4 similar switches that operate when door opens. This switch worked as a replacement and a month in is working quite well. For Dacor MW Owners: Dacor is not listed in the list of MWs this part can fix but it will work. Hope the details below are helpful to a Dacor owner in a predicament such as confronting us. When we bought our current house, it had all Dacor appliances but the builtin MW needed replacing. We had to buy something that fit and matched the trim. The surrounding trim is ~$450 and most other countertop MW don't fit and/or not an esthetic match. So installing a similar Dacor was a forced choice. When it stopped working, I called local repair guys and quickly found out they don't fix Dacor or don't carry parts for this model anymore. Same with on-line parts stores and Dacor customer service. The switch inside Dacor is labelled FD-63 with some additional numbers scribbled on it that this switch doesn't have (so it is not technically identical). The size is nearly (not 100%) identical and good enough to replace the original. You will need a set of fuses on hand in case the first one or two tries fail (I got this https://www.amazon.com/review/create-review/?channel=glance-detail&asin=B082HZ1H47&ie=UTF8& and recommend you have them handy). You might already have a blown fuse or blow one or two during testing (discharge the capacitor to be safe even with no power connected). I also took a lot of pictures of wires and connections during disassembly so I could trace my steps back when reassembling. In my case, one of the double switches at the bottom that get pressed when you press the switch to open the MW door (from outside) had gone bad (you can easily tell as the button on top (red and for this generic switch the yellow) doesn't popup fully. The main challenge was the very flimsy plastic molded part on which these switches are mounted. The plastic is very flimsy and it broke at multiple points trying to remove the defective switch and reinstalling the new one. I had to preform plastic welding (with a soldering iron) to stick the pieces on (and I had to get a soldering iron just for that (~$15 from Harbor or Box stores and Youtube as a how to guide). If you are able to get the switch off and put this one in its place without any damage, this repair is a breeze that require only a moderate handyman skill. Next additional plastic that door screws go into reveled themselves with cracks and won't hold the steel threaded screw (more soldering iron to melt and plastic and glue the pieces). Reassembly was rather easy (followed colored wires using the pictures I had taken).

Perfect part to save my microwave!
This was a perfect replacement part for my above-stove GE microwave oven. Everything is working like new, once again! I thought I would need to replace my entire microwave, but this $8 part from Amazon saved the day. Thank you!

This Switch Works Great in my GE Spacesaver Microwave
This switch works great in my 20 year old GE Spacemaker 2.0 microwave. Previous to installation, the microwave was turning on when the door was opened. After watching Youtube videos on the subject. It was determined the lowest of three switches associated with the door was faulty. Bought and installed this switch and the microwave is working like new again. Thanks Much.

Worked flawlessly in my GE above stove Microwave
My microwave was not turning off when I opened it. The other switch was sticking down for some reason. There were three total switches in the door closing mechanism. All must work well. if grease or something penetrates and causes them to glue up then when the door is opened up the microwave will think the door is still closes and keep powering on spreading microwave radiation throughout your house. The fix is simple. 10 minutes-15 minutes depending upon your abilities. Before you Begin: CAUTION: don't electrocute yourself. .... Just pay attention to not touch a bunch of stuff while disconnecting the plugs from the 3 switches. 1. Take Pictures of how everything is hooked up to the door closing assembly so you don't forget how to hook things hook back up. Too many photos is always a good idea. 2 Unplug the 3 wires from the Door Closing assembly so it can be removed. 3. Remove the plastic part with the 3 switches embedded in it. Find and replace the faulty switch. 4. Take a picture of your switch and find an equivalent one for cheap on Amazon. Don't need 4-5 times more GE original switches... they are all the same. 5. Once your order arrives, replace the bum switch which won't click up and down anymore. Hook things up as it was. Screw your control panel back on with its single screw & Voila!!

Inexpensive fix that worked!
I purchased this microwave door switch on Amazon, hoping it would fix the issue with my microwave—where the fan and turntable would run even with the door open. To my relief, this part resolved the problem 100%! It was easy to install and saved me the expense of hiring a repair technician. The entire process was straightforward, and the microwave now works perfectly. Highly recommend this product for anyone experiencing similar issues—it’s a cost-effective and reliable solution. Thank you!
