Clean cuts, worth the price.
I bought this blade for trimming an IKEA wardrobe, and it cut perfectly clean with no chipping. It is expensive, but absolutely worth the price for the quality of the results.

**Makita B-57336 TCT Efficient Saw Blade (165 × 56T) – Detailed Review** After using the Makita B-57336 TCT Efficient saw blade for several projects involving hardwood, softwood, and laminated boards, it’s clear that this blade is designed for precision, durability, and efficiency. It’s positioned as a premium circular saw blade, and overall it delivers performance that justifies its price. **Build Quality & Design** The first thing you notice is the solid construction. The blade uses **TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) teeth**, which are known for long life and consistent cutting performance. The 56-tooth configuration is ideal for **fine and clean cuts**, especially when working with sheet materials, laminate, and finished wood surfaces where tear-out can be a problem. The blade has a **165 mm diameter with a 20 mm bore**, making it compatible with many plunge saws and circular saws. The teeth are ground precisely and the body of the blade feels rigid and well balanced. Makita has also engineered it with a **thin kerf (about 1.45 mm)** which reduces resistance while cutting. **Cutting Performance** In actual use, the blade performs extremely well: * Cuts through **softwood effortlessly** * Produces **very clean edges in plywood and MDF** * Handles **laminate boards without significant chipping** * Maintains smooth feed with minimal vibration The **56 teeth** make it more suited for **precision and finish cuts rather than aggressive ripping**, but it still handles moderate ripping tasks fairly well. Another noticeable benefit is how **quiet and smooth the blade feels** compared with cheaper alternatives. Reduced vibration translates into better control and less fatigue during longer cutting sessions. **Efficiency & Speed** Makita claims the blade cuts faster than standard blades, and in practice it does feel **noticeably smoother and more efficient**. The thin kerf helps the saw motor work less hard, which is particularly helpful for cordless saws where battery efficiency matters. Because of the efficient tooth geometry and reduced friction, the blade maintains cutting speed even in dense materials. **Durability** After multiple cutting sessions, the blade holds its sharpness well. Tungsten carbide teeth are designed to last significantly longer than standard steel blades. As long as you avoid nails or abrasive materials, this blade should maintain performance for a long time. If needed, the blade can also be **professionally resharpened**, extending its lifespan even further. **Pros** ✅ Very clean, precise cuts ✅ High-quality tungsten carbide teeth ✅ Thin kerf improves efficiency and reduces load on the saw ✅ Smooth, low-vibration operation ✅ Excellent for plywood, laminate, and finish carpentry **Cons** ⚠️ More expensive than basic blades ⚠️ Not ideal for heavy ripping or rough construction work **Best Uses** This blade is best suited for: * Finish carpentry * Cabinet making * Cutting plywood and sheet materials * Laminate flooring installation * Fine woodworking projects If your priority is **clean, professional-quality cuts**, this blade performs exceptionally well. **Final Verdict** The Makita B-57336 is a **high-performance finishing blade** that delivers smooth, accurate cuts with impressive efficiency. While the price is higher than entry-level blades, the **cut quality, durability, and reduced strain on the saw** make it a worthwhile investment for both professionals and serious DIY users. ⭐ **Rating: 4.7 / 5** A great choice if you want reliable precision and long-lasting performance from your circular or plunge saw blade.

I've been using this blade since I bought my saw. Fun fact: It was this blade that Makita originally shipped with the saw. It cuts through wood without splinters - very straight and clean lines. It even does clean cuts on laminated panels if you move the saw in a straight and controlled way.
