The emitter needs to align with where your sight plane is but you don't want an emitter Sitting directly in line with your line of sight. The emitter points upward and you'll notice the lens is angled to the same degree that the emitter is set off of the sight line. **Q: What is the center point with the mount it comes with?** A: 2 mounts. Low and lower 1/3 **Q: Would this hold up to a 45-70??** A: Yes.
