Heavy
Heavy, high quality. Should last forever. Very heavy. Like two handed heavy.

Great camp cooker at a great price!
So far, so good! Important - Like with all cast iron, season before you use this! I followed the recommended instructions on the product website and seasoned for one hour in 250 degree oven. I have not taken this to camp yet, but I’ve tried it out both on the stove eye and the fire pit and it’s worked so far with a little practice. I’ve tried grilled cheese, potatoes, and fruit “pies.” My favorite so far is two slices of bread (butter the outsides) with apple butter and cinnamon on the inside. It makes a quick apple turnover! I’ve had the best results with canned fruit or preserves - your bread will burn before you get enough heat to cook fresh fruit. You could try a pie crust or phyllo dough, but so far I’ve only tried things I could replicate with little to no effort while camping with minimal ingredients that need to be kept cold. I have not found the handles to be too week as other reviews have said, but you would not be holding this constantly while cooking. You can find a log or rock to prop it up. The handles easily twist out to clean, pack or season the cooker. For the price (I paid $15), this double pie iron definitely delivers.

Cast iron camper pie maker
This makes the nicest camper pies I have ever seen! No flimsy non-stick aluminum - this thing is made from cast iron! It was a little tricky getting the bread to fit inside, but it was well worth the effort once I seen the finished product. I made Reuben sandwiches and the design sealed all the good stuff inside a pocket sandwich! You can use it over a campfire or cheat a little and use it on your cook stove!

Fun around the Campfire
These are very well made; however, they are also heavy!!! Didn't think about buying a double one would make it that much heavier. Definitely need to rest it on the side of our Solo (or set on top of the Solo cover). They worked well after seasoning. So far we just did fruit pies. Lots of fun and plan to use them more this summer.

Great for camping!
Worked great! Just make sure you clean before using or the food will taste like chemicals.

Rustic Charm, Frustrating Functionality
Coghlan's 2044 Cast Iron Double Camp Cooker promises rugged, campfire-ready cooking, and in that respect, it delivers. This double-pot setup, with its sturdy cast iron construction, certainly feels capable of withstanding years of abuse. However, the "easy" part of the equation is a significant stretch. Three stars feels appropriate, acknowledging the cooker's resilience while acknowledging its significant usability shortcomings. The primary frustration stems from the design. The nested pots, while space-saving for packing, are a nightmare to clean. Food inevitably gets trapped between the pot and the lid, requiring a Herculean effort with scrubbing brushes and potentially steel wool. The tight fit also makes filling and emptying a challenge, especially when dealing with boiling liquids. The cast iron itself is a double-edged sword. While it retains heat incredibly well, leading to efficient cooking once it’s up to temperature, it takes an agonizingly long time to heat up initially and cools down just as slowly. This makes precise temperature control difficult, leading to occasional burnt or undercooked food. Despite these drawbacks, the Coghlan's 2044 does manage to cook food. It's a truly effective vessel for boiling water, stews, and other hardy campfire meals. The robust construction instills confidence, and the patina developed over time adds to its rustic charm. Ultimately, this cooker is best suited for experienced campers who prioritize durability and don't mind investing extra time and effort in cleaning and temperature control. Beginners might find the challenges overwhelming. If ease of use is a priority, you might want to consider lighter, non-stick alternatives. But if you're looking for a durable workhorse that can handle the rigors of the backcountry, the Coghlan's 2044, despite its quirks, might just be worth the struggle.

Awesome!
AWESOME! We made so many different meals with this on our camping trip.. but my favorite was the breakfast sandwich pies! It's so easy to use & it only takes a couple minutes to cook ... USE PAM OR BUTTER IT WILL STICK!

Excellent product
I thought the handles would have gotten hot while in use However they stayed very cool Also I tried it with a burger and bun flipped up and melted everything together It has ample room Works as stated Turned a normal hamburger into gourmet hamburger same as a normal grill cheese Highly recommend

Campfire Favourite
I grew up using pie irons and for a number of years had forgotten about them. After I purchased my single-size at a cottage show, I quickly remembered how popular these are around the fire and 1 was not enough. This double size feeds a crowd faster, but I'll warn that it is quite heavy so may not be great for the smaller kids. The combination of having a single and a double is working very well for us.

Poca Calidad y tamaño no funciona
