Sacred Earth Botanicals Lotion (½ Gallon)

I have been doing massages since 1996. In 2014 my prior brand decided to secretly change ingredients making their product no longer natural as advertised, so I was very happy to discover Sacred Earth as it FAR surpasses quality of any of my favorite products in the past (biotone, bon vital). The lotion absorbs well which is great in certain techniques needing less glide, it's what I preferred for regular massages and especially in my chiropractic office days because I myself absolutely hate feeling greasy after a massage. The cream gives more glide which is excellent especially over hairy areas (many male clients have expressed it does not tug on hair,) and less applications or amount used- definitely a little greasy after but the very nature of massage creams. Since 2004 I mostly do Ashiatsu massage (with my feet) and need something that has a good glide so I mix half lotion & half cream for my perfect workability, I can pump it from a refillable jar, and it is still great for my occasional spot work or light Swedish work clients. I am in west-central FL, my place is mostly warm year round and I have not had any issues with breaking down or rancidity like some past brands. If a client is sweaty/wet I do towel off the area because it can effect the glide- proving water dispersible, and my linens do not stink like lotion which I have had other brands of unscented product still do. I simply can not imagine finding a better massage product & so happy they created SE. Happy customer here forever (as long as you don't switch up your ingredients!)

** Not a professional, my boyfriend just likes massages. ;-) Backstory: boyfriend is 60, fit, construction worker who has beat his body to death, and does NOT take care of his skin...at all. I have tried everything short of trying him down, to get him to use moisturizing products...ie: soap, conditioners..goodness forbid, lotion! Long story short, the only time he will lie still for an hour is while I work out the shoulder and back knots. I invested in a table, heated, fuzzy, pad, and splurged with this purchased as it had skin moisturizers in it. It spread wonderfully, and the consistency is thick, and as promised, no scent. However, due to his Sub-Saharan desert skin, his skin literally sucked the lotion off my hand! I would apply, massage in, and if I revisited the area only a short time later...it has soaked in, completely. I had to apply coconut oil on top afterward to achieve glide consistency. A+ for moisturizing quality, and his skin was soft the next day! On a normal subject, with non- parched skin, I'm sure it has excellent "glide" capability. A definate re-order item for me, and the subject grudgingly admitted to it being "not bad". Trust me, that's a high mark!

I am so happy to have come across this lotion! It does not leave any greasy feeling and it absorbs into the skin very well. I've used it for a week now and my skin is so much softer! After i pump some lotion into my hand I add a few drops of essential oil and mix it together and it works really well. I bought two bottles and added peppermint oil into one of the bottle and mixed it. I love peppermint oil since it gives a nice cool feeling, but i don't recommend using it until at least 20-30 minutes after you've showered. The peppermint cools the skin from the inside and with the pores still open after showering your skin will feel like you're your own refrigerator and wearing warm clothes will not help since it's cooling the skin from the inside. Waiting it out until your pores close (about 20 minutes) may be the only option. As for the lotion itself, it works very well. I also bought the half gallon refill too.

I am a chiropractor who includes some massage with each visit so I use lotion, but not that much. Buying this gallon of unscented lotion (since you never know who might have a chemical sensitivity) lasts me a very long time. I've been buying this brand for many years and think it's perfect for providing some glide, without being "oily."

Smells good. Good glide, not weird or have a sticky feeling to it. Don't put the bottle near heat, it will melt quick. Easy to pump.

I use this lotion for at home massage. It is smooth and not greasy. Perfect in between of lotion vs oil. Lightweight and goes a long way. No obnoxious odors.

Horrible glide

Love this lotion! It’s more like a cream but it’s pumpible. I think my pump dispenses @1 oz/pump, so I use about 2 oz/massage. I put 2 pumps into a rubber bowl, warm it in my towel cabi for @ 30 mins and then add essential oils and flower essences to customize it for each client. I can easily add a little more to the bowl if I need more...I’d rather have to add more than waste it by starting with too much. I’ve been using it for years, and have to order every couple months, so I may go with the 5 gallon size this time! Yes it’s a little pricey but quality ingredients are important to me and I like supporting a company that is committed to the environment and uses renewable power to operate their facility.

I could not be more happy with dealing with this company and this product. I have been a Registered Massage Therapist for over 10 years and have always used this lotion. The product is impeccable. My local supplier went out of business 5 years ago and since then I have been ordering from this supplier and I cannot be more happy. The lotion arrives very quickly and the quality if the lotion is wonderful. The only constructive feedback I have is that the price of the product has increased consistently over the years.
