Cute language cards, a novel technique to learn a new language which makes it really fun.

These Greek Lingo Playing Cards have been such a thoughtful and useful find. They made the perfect gift for my teen son, who has fallen in love with Greece and is already dreaming about moving there after college to study archaeology. What I really appreciate is how hands-on and engaging they are. He’s someone who learns best by doing, and these cards make picking up vocabulary feel natural and even fun instead of overwhelming. It’s something he can casually practice with, whether on his own or with others. The translations are clear and practical, and it’s a lovely way to build familiarity with the language little by little. It feels more like a game than studying, which makes a big difference in keeping his interest. If you have a young learner or anyone with a love for Greece, this is a wonderful little gift that makes learning feel easy and enjoyable.

I am trying to improve my Greek, and our family also loves to play games. This is the perfect blend. We can play Go Fish, Rummy ,Hearts, or any game that uses a 52-card deck, and we can brush up on key phrases that every traveler should know while visiting Greece. The cards are very nice quality. The two Joker cards have the Greek alphabet letters displayed, along with their pronunciation. That was a cool bonus I didn't expect. I will be popping this in my purse for a quick game and a fun way to learn (and teach the family) Greek words and phrases.

These are a great learning aid, especially with Greek flash cards being virtually impossible to find. I have 2 small complaints, but not that would keep me from buying them. 1. They are written in all capital letters, which is not the way most Greek writing (or any writing) is found. 2. More frustrating is that accent marks are not included with the Greek, which can make or break pronunciation and translation. To remedy this, I grabbed a sharpie and wrote the accents in where they belong so my kids and I would not be practicing improper pronunciation. Overall, worth buying.

The phonetic spelling for English speakers is off. I only got these words correct because I’m of Greek extraction.

Our family is Greek and we gave this as a gift to someone who is not Greek, but marrying into the family. We loved the common phrases selected for the cards, the phonetics for pronunciation, and the Greek lettering. This is a well made deck of cards, solid and strong. Could be a great educational tool for children as well.
