Will this work with a blue yeti mic? i understand it is pretty heavy in comparison to most mics and i am not sure if threading would be the same?

Well... it’s not THAT heavy. My “guess” is that you should be able to use it just fine.

Does this fit shure mics and I need it for sitting and playing guitar without falling down?

yeah i wouldn't buy this again. the knobs don't tighten enough n the boom arm is 2 pieces that keep loosening up which turns the mic pointing to the ground n then the mic falls out of the clip n hangs from the cord. spend a little more
