Hampton Signature – Sophia – 20 Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4 – White

These look like mother of pearl. They are sturdy and have remained looking good - although I have to admit they are used for special occasions and I hand wash and dry them to keep them looking good. They might do fine in the dishwasher, but I haven't put them to that test.

I thought it was just me, but the flatware breaks off too easily. I was going to buy another set to make up for what I've lost, but reading these reviews, it sounds more like a "known issue" from the manufacturer. I never put these items in the dishwasher and was careful not to overload the spoons and forks...they need to re-engineer​ this product so that they don't break. Sigh...off to find another set of flatware that is sturdier.

I cannot believe that I have only had this set of flatware for six months and the spoons and forks have broken in half. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!

the knives/spoons/forks are loose and fall out of handle when used. Embarasing when this happened with guests. You should not sell this product.

Terrible! They don't survive the dishwasher. All broke in half in less than a month. POOR, POOR quality! Don't bother!

Junk. A lot of them just break in half. I would like to know how do I get my money back???

If I could do no stars I would. Granted, the set is pretty, and well priced. But like other reviewers have concurred, cheap as cheap can be. I bought two sets in April. One set arrived already with a broken piece- should have been a sign of things to come. Of the second set, I now have only 6 salad forks and 2 dinner forks left. If you try to eat anything requiring some pressure, like cutting a steak for example, the plastic simply breaks from the metal base. I am not sure it's worth fighting over the return 7 months later, but all I can say is if you buy it, consider it as permanent as, well, plastic cutlery.
