I purchased the 12V and plugged it into a small regular ole table lamp I picked up at a thrift store so the light would shine upward to my large non-blooming tropical plants/trees. (Pygmy Date Palm & Dracaena) Its only slightly warm to the touch. I will update if I find that the plants do not respond to the light but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it today. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very powerful bulb *by K***O on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2016* We purchased 4 different LED grow bulbs including this one to do comparisons: two 12-watt, one 15-watt and one 50 watt bulb. We tested each bulb at a distance of 5 feet. This bulb had an approximate 4-foot spread. When testing the strength with a professional light meter, even at its outer edge, its light readings registered higher than 2 of the other bulbs' center readings, many times stronger. It is made well but is heavy due to the heat sink fins. To give a sense of my duty cycle, I ran it for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
