The grill side is charcoal only, no gas plumbed to that side. The griddle top uses propane.

What is the best way to keep the griddle top to stay from rusting

The best way to keep a griddle top from rusting is to season it well and to cook on it frequently. Also when you’re done cooking on it after you’ve cleaned off the excess food be sure and put down a very thin layer of oil over the entire top prior to putting it away for the day. We also recommend covering that either with one of our soft covers or a hard covers.

The grill side is charcoal only. The griddle side is 12,000 BTUs. You can use a small green propane tank or the unit comes with a bulk tank adapter hose that you can use with a full size standard tank.
