A most informative book, written for people who have never been to this island, as well as a wonderful resource for lovers of Aruba! Not your average tour guide, not at all.This well written book is chock full of information, easily accessible because of how it is structured. It is written for anyone who wishes to enhance their Aruba experience, whether learning about the history and culture, or finding the best beaches that will suit you. The activity ranges from families to adults and the suggestions were spot on. I would give this this book as a gift to anyone going to this beautiful isle, or treat yourself and buy this book....it's a true winner.Just bought another for a friend of mine who is building a house in Aruba!

Excellent guidebook - better and more complete than Frommer's, especially when dealing with the island's history, culture and geography.  Still, businesses come and go quickly in any resort area, and some of the restaurant reviews are not up to date since the restaurants have closed, had a change in management, etc.  No way to avoid that unless yearly updates are possible, and I'm not aware that any such exist.

I'm a huge reader of travel guides, and this one is fantastically written.However, I was shocked at the lack of any information on some of the largest hotels on the island.  Perhaps the Holiday Inn, Marriott & Hyatt aren't the author's type of places, but tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands of visitors will stay at those hotels in a given year.  Perhaps a paragraph or two is warranted.
