Silver Plated Necklace Chains

So far so good. I'm excited about making jewelry for gifts.

***the first five or six paragraphs describe my review and then the rest is pretty much filler that explains why/how I will be using these items in accordance to my review. you don't have to read the whole thing if you just want to know about the product 😁*** SO...These chains seem to be a little smaller than what I expected from the pictures but Im an ACTUAL Amazon, and at 6'1" EVERYTHING is smaller than I expect LOL. As far as the color/finish of the metal goes - they do look very much like new Sterling silver, or Sterling silver plate, as it is described. As far as quality and durability of the chains *themselves* - I'd describe them as VERY fragile. You've probably seen this type of fragility in a chain on your grandmother's neck(my Grandma had a couple pendants on even more delicate of chains, at half of the size of this one, that she actually used to safety pin flat to a padded piece of fabric so they wouldn't tie themselves into knots as soon as they got in the jewelry box. Most of you know exactly what I'm talking about as most people have or have had a grandma that lived through the depression and/or a world war. Everyone was shackled to a $0 budget but occasionally a young lady was gifted with some type of family/religious/romantic pendant that hung from a hair-thin (gold?) chain. These grandmothers (or aunts) always seemed to keep them perfectly intact so they could be passed down. They were only worn to church or other important social events and in my experience it was good enough to keep them like new. That being said; we at least know that a necklace with twice the strength of what grandma carefully wore for 80 years can successfully be used for certain things if used with care. SO these little necklaces are surprisingly more valuable and more beautiful than what we should expect for this budget price (plus it has SUPER quick shipping). As for quality - They're put together quite well - if you look at each link in the chain and each of the jump rings that hold the claw clasp and connector together - Each loop seems to be closed pretty straight and as close to closed as they could get without using solder but as I already said they are very fragile as a whole. Overall I find this item to have remarkable quality and it came a day and a half later at most. each little necklace is prepackaged in its own individual zip top jewelry bag so they're already ready to go. AND I counted them as soon as I received them because they were so tiny in their little bags, it appeared to me that only 30 of the 50 were in the package but surprise! there were *51 😺 individually packaged pieces. I was very pleased. For .26¢ a piece you'd be hard pressed to find the little plastic zipper bags let alone the giftable/sellable item inside. If you are making heavy pendants with gemstones and mineral rocks or other weighty items then these are NOT the chains you should choose for them. I'm using these to hang tiny glass teardrop vials(also very fragile and weightless like a hummingbird egg) that I will fill with crushed pieces of precious or semi-precious gemstone crumbs that I collect myself in Southern California. we have a volcanic/earthquake faultline/tectonic plate/hydrothermal vent type situation that has gloriously increased by 20 times following each of the horrible super storms and/or earthquakes, as well as an unusual amount of volcanic eruptions in past few years. Through all this horrible trauma and damage has come gifts from Mother Earth. wonderful geological beauties and new things to learn everyday. I wanted something to offer to people who don't live in these special areas without REALLY letting go of any of my treasures. I'm hoarding ALL of them and I just can't imagine selling OR gifting even the most tiny rare precious emeralds/ruby/sapphires/tourmaline/Beryl, etc that I have found while learning about the unique geological makeup of California by accident hahaha
