Do the front wheels turn to steer easily or is it hard?

The front wheel turns pretty easily. My 16 months old is able to steer himself around the house with ease and push off with his legs.

does it work on wood floors?

We have linoleum and carpet and my son rides it on both of those as well as in the driveway. I don't see it having any problems on a wood floor.

Would this ride in backyard grass?

We did not try it in the grass but both my husband and I say "no". The wheels are too small for that, and it is too close the ground. Easy on carpet or driveway -- but not the lawn!

What's the height of the seat when it's in the ride on position?

It's about 9inches off the ground.

Sturdy and easy to use

I bought this for my grandsons 2nd birthday present and he absolutely loved it! It's sturdy and wide enough he don't tip over. He is able to sit on it and push himself around or we easily switch the seat around and it becomes a scooter. Love the versatility. Fairly easy to put together. I can see this being his favorite summer toy!
