Not spring assisted or F.A.S.T (forward action spring-assisted technology)
I purchased it because it was listed as assisted opening, which was what I wanted. It is a solid, well-made knife! It is the size, configuration and weight I wanted. However I was looking for a knife that would open easily with one hand. I own several folding knives with F.A.S.T. opening, and although they are not switchblades; once you start them opening they snap open quite freely! This knife opens well, but requires a definite snap of the wrist to lock in place! The price was right, and I can't complain. But it should NOT have been listed among the assisted opening knives! It is a good knife, of the category we used to call a "flick knife"!

Good knife very sharp
Heave the warning . Don't use it to like pull out things . The tip broke off after I kept using it to loosen my door knob .
