I think the stuff works fine. It sticks well and, while there was a smell, it really came from the roll of material. I noticed no smell once I cut a small bit to put on the back of an object and put the bulk roll away.The stuff is thin and stretches easily. It is difficult to cut a square piece and still have a crisp and tidy square when you secure the rubber to the back of an item (due to stretch). Stretchy rubber isn't always a bad thing, really; it forms easily to surfaces. It is lightweight and not very resistant to all abrasion. However, I had to scrape it pretty hard with a fingernail to show wear. It is strong enough for normal use on drinks coasters and remotes and etc.While it is sticky, I had no trouble putting it lightly in place and then pulling it up to reposition it. There seems to be a "grace period". However, after some period of time, the stuff sticks like glue. If you change your mind about using rubber on the back of the TV remote, it is hard to get the stuff off.MASKING TAPE IDEA: I will stick the rubber to masking tape and then cut my square, or whatever shape, and then stick masking tape with rubber on to the back of my object. This will help the rubber piece hold its shape and look nice while I put it in place, plus it will be easier to remove... Masking tape should stick fine to the back of household stuff like calculators or TV remotes or etc. Trouble is, I have already rubbered up about everything on my list before I thought about doing this... Sticking rubber on stuff is fun. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is better than I could have hoped for. *by H***Y on March 27, 2021* UPDATE: 4-18-21So just a quick update, I noticed after around a week of using this on that mouse, that the foam would start to stress crack at the place my had rested on the mouse. If you plan on using it on something that is going to get rubbed a lot, then you will need something to protect the foam from the wear. If I had kept the mouse, I would have used a clear coating like clear Flex Seal or clear Through the Roof coating. But sadly, the mouse had other issues that simply could not be fixed, so I had to send it back. But the good news was that the Neoprene foam was easy to pull back off and left no marks or adhesive behind.Back to the original review.I needed this to fix a couple of issues I had with my Elecom Huge Mouse, and the lack of support it had on the pad and the cover breaking down. This almost fixed both issues.For those who had issues with the adhesive either not sticking or sticking too much. Here is what I learned.For the first 20 to 30 minutes, I could peel it up and move it around and re-stick it. But if you left it for over 30 minutes with some pressure, I could not peel it off without tearing the foam. This mouse had some inverted curves and some bends and folds. The only place I found it to let go just a little bit was the inverted curve. But this could easily be fixed with a bit of contact cement.I found others complaining about it tearing too easily. I purposely worked it hard just to see how much it would stretch and did not find that it tore beyond what would be considered "normal" working stress. If you take a piece and stretch it till it tears, it will help you to know how much it can handle before you use it on your project. But be aware, if you have to stretch it or pull it around bends. Even if it does it ok, after about a week it will start to stress crack in those areas. So this foam is not really meant for hard bends or stretching.I was able to pull it around the bottom edges and stretch it a bit in places without it tearing at all. It was not overly stretchy and was in my opinion very easy to work with. I would imagine that if this was in someplace where it got hot then it might not stick as well, but for my project it almost worked perfect. Time will tell how long it lasts.
