Supplements, Berberine Glucose Support, Combined with MCT Oil for Optimal Berberine Absorption, 90 Softgels

This is my first experience with berberine. I read that it had similar effects as popular weight loss meds like Ozempic or Wegovy. This is how I found out about berberine. My insurance is denying all the medications for weight loss so I decided to try this out. I started taking them Feb. 8, 2025. This review is being written April 1, 2025. In that time I've lost ~50 pounds. Which sounds like a lot, but I'm a VERY large man. So don't get too excited. Along with starting to take berberine I adjusted my diet significantly (this is probably the most important part). I completely cut out carbs and sugar (not counting apples and bananas, other fruit). I increased the protein and veg intake. NO BREAD!!! NO DESSERTS!!! NO SODIE POPS!!! Over time I found that I do not crave food as much. I feel full sooner. My food intake has decreased quite a bit. Taste buds have changed and food tastes better. Milk is sweet now. Its all very exciting. Now, all this does come with a price. Like many others have expressed there is a slight bit of stomach discomfort. I've felt nauseous and have had to run to the bathroom multiple times and it wasn't to vomit. Whatever came out of me was from the depths of Hell. It was NOT solid. It is the total opposite of solid, if you catch my drift. And at first, I didn't read the symptoms and made mistakes but over time you start to feel it before it happens. So, it IS manageable. However, I would not take this on a road trip, a long movie/play, at work, school, etc... Unless you can handle a stream of waste that feels like your butt is a super soaker. So, there is risk involved. Everyone will react differently. All in all, I will continue taking this. I feel like the benefits outweigh the gastric drawbacks. I am ready to lose another 50 pounds and then some. My advice... try it out. You might be surprised.

High powered formula. This one you take with the meal as opposed to other companies having you take it before you eat. Seems to be working well.

I been taking this supplement for about a month in half, I feel way better with diet and exercise also eating healthy carbs, I have dropped weight by adding this to my daily activities. Drink lots of water with it. Not a over night pill takes time like everything else , also everyone is different remember everyone's body is different

Putting this as a four-star review so people will see it over the bad reviews. People can be sensitive to berberine because it stimulates enzymes that help the liver process estrogen and other metabolites. If your detox pathways are a bit overloaded, you can experience head pressure, neck tension, or dull headaches as your body temporarily mobilizes toxins or shifts hormone balance. I had a similar experience to DIM (other estrogen balancing supplement) and didn't realize it for two days and had the worst headache and nausea of my life. After taking berberine after a meal and plenty hydrated, I started to get a similar headache, which has continued into the next day. For this reason, I'll be discontinuing the supplement because it's not worth it to see if my body can adjust. Just beware if your body is sensitive, please. 2. Inflammatory sensitivity: Some people with autoimmune or thyroid conditions (Hashimoto’s) are very sensitive to rapid cellular changes. Berberine can change mitochondrial activity and cytokine balance quickly

Effective for blood glucose control. Lowered my glucose peak after meals even with pasta and lowered my 3am to 6am morning spike. Also similar to my experience with rybelsis (Ozempic tablet form) I did have some loose bowels on some days but better later after a couple of weeks. Also Drinking lots of water or decaf tea during the day. A Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) can give immediate feedback to show what works, with what timing and how quickly and how a 15 minute walk can drop the peak levels from pasta. Or how a natural sugar free lozenge with sugar alcohol can elevate BG to over 250mg/dl in 5 minutes. A CGM monitor should also be shielded by a hard protective cover and patch to prevent false low glucose alarms during side sleeping at 3AM.

I really like that they are soft-gels, tablets are harder to swallow, and capsules (ugh) stick in my throat. Can't swallow capsules at all. This is a large pill, but since it is a soft gel, it is very easy to swallow. I read in a review for a different brand that you weren't supposed to take Berberine longer than 6 weeks without a break, but I just finished my first bottle, which means I have been taking the supplement for 90 days. I have had no side effects whatsoever, and I do think it has helped my blood sugar numbers, and I have lost some weight, which I didn't expect, so it has apparently had some effect on my appetite. I don't know whether the people who are having gastrointestinal problems have an allergy to Berberine, or were maybe taking too high a dose, but I think I will heed the suggestion to take breaks, and I definitely want to continue the lower dose that NOW offers, since I have seen benefits at that dose. I'm going to do some more research about the "take breaks" suggestion by one reviewer, to see if there is anything to that. I'll come back and report my findings, if any.

While NOW are generally fantastic and of high quality supplements, this version of Berberine is not as effective as other more simple brands.
