Featuring a programmable smart thermostat, ultra-quiet operation down to 10 dBA, and a robust anodized aluminum chassis, it delivers up to 220 CFM airflow to prevent overheating and extend equipment lifespan. Its versatile design supports horizontal or vertical mounting and includes an expansion port for multi-unit setups, making it the ultimate cooling solution for professional and home rack environments.

## Description

Product DetailsAn intelligent cooling fan system designed to be mounted onto a wide range of 19-inch racks requiring quiet or high airflow cooling. Maintaining an optimal temperature for rack-mount equipment prevents overheating, ensures constant performance, and extends their lifespan. The system is housed in a solid aluminum construction that takes up two rack units of space (2U), anodized with a light-brush finish for a high-end look. This model holds three custom-engineered dual-ball bearing fans rated at 67,000 hours, and certified by CE and RoHS. The fans are set to exhaust out heated air and should be positioned near the top of the rack. This complete kit includes the 2U fan unit, corded 6-ft thermal probe, user’s manual, rack mount screws, cage nuts, and corded 6-ft power supply.Intelligent CoolingProgramming includes an easy-to-use thermostat and a SMART mode that automatically adjusts the fan’s speed to react to varying temperatures. Additional features include alarm alerts, fan failure triggers, power savings setting, display lock, and backup memory. Six fan speeds are available with three screen brightness settings. Behind the unit is an expansion port that can control another CLOUDPLATE unit or an AC Infinity rack roof dual-fan kit.Performance and ApplicationsThis 2U rack cooling system features programmable fan speed control, enabling it to work for a wide range of rack mount applications. With a noise level that can reach 10 dBA, the fan system can be used for environments where low or minimal noise is required such as home theater, studio, DJ, and audio video racks. A max airflow rating of 220 CFM will provide sufficient cooling to server, network, IT and equipment racks requiring high airflow. This fan system has dual-ball bearings, allowing it to be mounted horizontally or vertically.

Review: Does everything they claim and looks nice .. - It does everything that I expected and more. There are three modes of operation: (1.) Manual "On"; It stays on until you turn if off (2.) "Auto": It runs until it reaches 2 degrees below the desired temperature setting, then turns back on automatically when the probe reaches the desired temperature setting again. (3.) Smart: It runs at a higher speed until the temperature of the probe is the same as the desired setting. Of course, you can also manually turn the unit off. The fan is relatively quiet during it's full-speed operation. The noise wouldn't be objectionable in most home theater applications, particularly if it was inside a cabinet. You can set the light for the LED panel to either stay on all of the time, or to just light up for a few seconds, then turn off automatically.. Personally, I like to see the lights all of the time, so I set it to come on. I have three of them in a rack, and it looks impressive with all three lit up. The air blows out the front. There doesn't seem to be a way to switch directions of the fan electrically. You might be able to take it apart and reverse the fans-- I haven't tried it. It's put together with screws, not rivets, which is good. In some applications, it works better to have the fan blowing in, but it seems to work well blowing out in most situations. So far, I have nothing bad to say about it. It does what it says it does, and it looks nice. I just installed it, so I can't tell how well it will hold up for the long term. It seems like a quality product, however, and I expect it will last for several years without failure. Because it's assembled with screws instead of rivets, the fans can probably be replaced if they eventually wear out.
Review: Excellent Unit - Fair Price - Excellent Customer Service - I am a professional musician and I ordered this product to install in a rack full of temperature sensitive - high tech and very expensive digital signal processing equipment for guitar. This product works excellent for this application and I do plan on installing a second one in the back of the rack for added ventilation. Even though this unit was probably designed for a computer server rack, I have found it to work extremely well for my guitar rack rig. I would recommend this unit to anyone as it is a cost effective piece of gear that is built well, very quiet, and moves volumes of air to assist in keeping the rack equipment cool. I did reverse the fans so that it is sucking in cool air and I placed it in between the two pieces of equipment that generate the most heat. Once I receive the second one I will place it at the top back area of the rack as to have it exhaust out the hotter air that rises in the rack. Outstanding product, shipped fast, and I could not ask for any better of an addition to to my rack rig !!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do you reverse the fans on the unit?**
A: you literally have to physically take the fans out and flip them. Not hard though, I did this after talking to the cloudplate folks. You lay the unit down face down, remove the screws, take the back off, and flip the fans one by one. Make sure the power cables are out of the way, and close it back up. That's it. Super easy as I actually had to do this as well.

**Q: Where can I buy a replacement plug?**
A: I would contact the manufacturer directly.

**Q: What's the difference between the T7 and X7**
A: The T7 is designed for quiet environments. It won't blow as much air but works great in places where it matters what amount of sound is made. This made the T7 unit ideal for our in house sound rack. We wouldn't want the noise level annoying our patrons. Also a good option for home theatre applications etc... The X7 on the other hand has the ability to move more air and create a cooler rack then the T7 can, but at the cost of a more noisy unit. This works great when the rack is not in a noise sensitive area, for example in a server room. Hope this helps!Bret R.

**Q: I have an 8 space rack and most illustrations I've see recommend a unit at both top and bottom. Will 1 of these be adequate?**
A: Mr. Ivey, I can only respond according to my personal opinion and experience with this fan unit. I have mine mounted in a 4 space rack in the bottom location in the back of the rack. My configuration sucks air in from the outside and brings it up through the cabinet to be pushed out near the top. The only real heat producing item I have in the rack is a Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp which has tubes, but they are rather small (12-AX7's and 12-AT7) 4 or 5 of them inside. This setup is not going to produce a great deal of heat anyway, but I wanted to play it safe so I installed the exhaust fan assembly to help the air movement inside the cabinet. If I had any type of tube power amp inside or multiple tubed components other than the one preamp, and was using an eight space rack, I would probably want an additional fan near the top to aid in pulling the warm air out from the inside. If most of the components were solid state, I would probably use only the one fan assembly. I hope this helps in your decision. Thanks and good luck with your purchase!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Build Quality, Quiet Fans, and Works Overseas
*by J***E on May 8, 2021*

I'm happy with the purchase, and will probably buy more when I upgrade to a larger rack. Good quality build, the fans are quiet, and very easy to install. For those in countries with 220-240 voltage: The power supply is a US two prong adapter but supports 100-240V, 50-60Hz power and is working great for me in Hong Kong. For my setup, I paired this with a short IEC C14 to NEMA 5-15R cable which allowed me to plugin to my PDU. You can also change the controls to Celsius. You can run an additional Cloud Plate through an included extension cable, so you can actually run two of these fans (say in intake and an exhaust) of a single power connection. The extension cable shares power and synchronises temperature configuration and fan speed. There are more details about this on the manufacturer's web site.
